Mario Mandzukic an Option for AC Milan

Milan Mandzukic

According to Fabrizio Romano, former Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic is an option for Serie A leaders AC Milan. The Italian club are back on top of Serie A for the first time in what seems like forever.

The Italian’s have already benefitted from the experience of Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Now, they could be about to add another veteran in Mandzukic to what could be a title-winning side.

The Croatian knows what it takes to win the famous Scudetto- winning the trophy on four occasions with Juventus.

The Potential for a Bargain Deal

As it stands, Mario Mandzukic is a free agent; meaning any club can secure his services for the bargain price of free.

The Croatian has previously played for both the aforementioned Juventus and Bayern Munich– where he won one Champions League trophy, two Bundesliga titles and two German Cups.

The fact is, should Milan pursue a deal, they’ll be getting a striker who has featured at the top of European football for the entirety of his illustrious career.

Now, at 34-years-old, he could prove to be the difference-maker between Milan success and Milan failure this season.

Deals Also Progressing for Meite and Tomori

Aside from Mandzukic, Milan are also reportedly progressing with deals for Soualiho Meite on loan from Torino with an option to buy, and a loan deal for Chelsea‘s out-of-favour centre-back Fikayo Tomori should a deal for Mohamed Simakan collapse.

With options seemingly aplenty, incomings should be expected at the San Siro- perhaps title-winnings arrivals. As it stands, the Milan club sit top of Serie A- three points clear of rivals Inter– and primed and ready to take the Serie A crown once more.

No matter what happens this season, though, it is clear that Milan are on their way back to the top.
