Anthony Knockaert Nottingham Forest Rumours Given Fresh Twist

Fulham Man Struggling To Get Cog Turning at Forest

The winger has failed to prove his true worth with Nottingham Forest rumours suggesting he could return to Fulham this month.

Scoring one goal in 16 appearances, his performances have split opinions among Reds fans.

Forest’s focus in the January transfer window is “people gone” according to Alan Nixon due to an extremely large squad, and that a decision over Knockaert’s future is “looming”.

Later on Sunday (January 3) Nixon tweeted: “[Forest] need to decide whether to extend. It’s costly. So it would be no shock if he didn’t stay on.”

Anthony Knockaert, 29, has scored one goal in his 16 appearances for the Reds – providing just one assist too.

The Fulham loanee has hardly lived up to expectations by managing a shot accuracy of just 25 per cent, and only 0.4 shots on target per 90 minutes.

At times, however, he has shown glimpses of his truue ability that led to his £10 million move to Fulham in July 2020.

Knockaert Deal Could Lead to Revived Interest in Kamil Grosicki

After missing out on Kamil Grosicki in the summer, Chris Hughton may turn his interest back to the West Bromwich Albion man.

Grosicki has made just one appearance in the Premier League so far – an 11-minute substitute appearance against Newcastle United.

According to the Sun (via BirminghamLive) the Baggies are looking to “trim the fringes” of their squad, potentially allowing Grosicki to head to the East Midlands.

Speaking previously about his limited playing time at the Hawthorns, Grosicki said: “I told the sports director that I wanted to fight for my chance in the Premier League and I didn’t mind a transfer. Hours flew by and I began to think about the future.

“Not playing in the WBA would complicate my situation in the national team, and soon the European Championships. Nottingham Forest had expressed its first interest six weeks earlier, so we and the manager renewed the topic.

“I didn’t smile to leave, but on the other hand Nottingham fought a lot for me, which would have to do with playing regularly for this club. They also offered an excellent contract.”
