Quick Tips

With so many matches and so many FPL deadlines coming up, it is better to have a playing squad of at least 13. Also, the players that seem to start every game no matter what are crucial. Team news may not be available all the time as well.

Goalkeepers

Leeds United have some nice fixtures coming up this month which makes Illan Meslier a decent prospect. However, Emiliano Martínez and Alex McCarthy might still be better long-term prospects. Chelsea‘s fixtures are not the easiest but their defence has been rock solid recently so Edouard Mendy remains a good pick too.

Defenders

Ben Chilwell, Kurt Zouma and Reece James are the three highest-scoring defenders so far this season. One should have one of them in their side.

Jannik Vestergaard has scored three goals already this season. Southampton have a decent chance of a clean sheet this week as well so one could look to bring him in. Kyle Walker-Peters is also a decent option.

The versatile Stuart Dallas is a solid option both long-term and for this week. West Ham United are not the easiest to play against so a clean sheet is not a certainty. However, Dallas is always capable of getting attacking points. Ezgjan Alioski is not a bad shout either. Luke Ayling will play in the centre of defence this week.

Andrew Robertson has produced points consistently this season. He has a brilliant fixture against Fulham this week. Some attacking points are possible. Trent Alexander-Arnold is back as well. However, as he has just returned from injury, will he be risked after completing 90 minutes midweek in the Champions League?

Midfielders

Kevin De Bruyne looks to be back in form and has been unlucky not to score more goals in the last couple of weeks. Manchester United away, on the surface, looks to be a tough game but the Red Devils will be tired and shattered after crashing out of the Champions League. De Bruyne stayed on the bench in the Champion League so should be fresh. Manchester City are playing well now and should win this derby. Riyad Mahrez is also in good form whereas Raheem Sterling scored after a slight drought last week. Signs are ominous for Manchester United. However, they do fight hard and have Bruno Fernandes in their side, so one cannot rule them out completely.

Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané are both great options this week. In fact, Salah is probably the most obvious captain pick against Fulham. Fulham indeed seem to have improved recently but Liverpool look in great form and should win comfortably. Mane is also a decent option. Diogo Jota was benched last week and his starting status is not confirmed. However, the Portuguese should do well if he gets the start.

Son Heung-min is the only player to have hit 100 points on FPL this season. It is quite amazing how efficient the South Korean has been. This week, Spurs go to Selhurst Park to face a Crystal Palace side who should give them a difficult game. If Palace sit back and let Spurs have the ball, it will be interesting to see how they go about in the process to break Palace down. Earlier in the season, Tottenham Hotspur had trouble against West Bromwich Albion and only a late Harry Kane goal got them the three points. However, one cannot bet against Son on current form.

James Ward-Prowse, Raphinha, Pedro Neto, Daniel Podence, Jack Grealish, and James Maddison also could do well this week.

Strikers

Jamie Vardy scored a late winner last week which should boost his confidence. Vardy is a streaky player and could go on a run of many games where he scores. His FPL owners will hope that his goal against Sheffield United started a streak. Brighton & Hove Albion allow chances to the opposition as well.

Danny Ings returned from injury last Monday with a goal. Ings is a brilliant player and has a great fixture this week as well.

Patrick Bamford has some nice looking fixtures coming up this month. Considering the way Leeds play, Bamford should keep getting chances to score. His finishing is still not the best but despite that, he has scored eight goals already. At that price, one should have him.

Kane and Timo Werner are both good options on most weeks. They face tricky away fixtures this week but could still do well. Werner needs to improve his finishing though. The German has missed some absolute sitters this season. Kane on the other hand keeps on scoring great FPL points.

Callum Wilson has a great home fixture against West Bromwich Albion this week as Newcastle United return to action. His FPL owners will be expecting goals from him.
