His leadership qualities are clear for all to see and he is someone Jurgen Klopp trusts. The way he goes about his business is quiet but effective and Milner makes a big difference when he does play. He brings everything Klopp wants and he can certainly look after the academy products. It is a huge step up to the first team; it can take time for players to adjust. Certainly, Milner knows the pressures having broken into the Leeds United team at the age of 16. He is the perfect person to guide the youngsters through; whatever he says to them will certainly be taken on board.

Whatever competition, whichever opponent, commitment and dedication is guaranteed from Milner. He relishes the occasion and has thrived in the red of Liverpool. At 34, he has plenty to offer and his commitment to the cause cannot be questioned. He is the prime example for any emerging footballer and Liverpool are certainly lucky to have him. He is getting better even in his later years and will continue to show his worth when the new season kicks off in September.

The vice-captain of Liverpool has plenty of fuel left in his tank. He shows no signs of stopping and is clear to see why Klopp idolises the veteran.
