REPORT: Valencia Not Budging on Ferran Torres Fee

Ferran Torres

Four-time Premier League winners Manchester City are showing serious interest in Valencia winger Ferran Torres, but the Spanish club are unwilling to budge unless their £73 million fee is met.

Several top clubs have been keeping tabs on the 20-year-old after he caught the eye this season with six goals and seven assists in all competitions at the Mestalla.

Valencia Standing Firm on Ferran Torres Fee

Manchester City Looking for Leroy Sane Replacement

After Leroy Sane switched to Bayern Munich for £50 million from the Etihad, Ferran Torres might be Manchester City’s direct replacement for the German winger.

Torres, like Sane, is a creative genius who possesses bursting pace and agility. His versatility allows him to comfortably play on both flanks of attack, as he can cut in from the left-flank and having a go at goal with his stronger right foot.

He is also an adept dribbler of the ball, making him a worrying threat to any opposing full-back.

The promising Span U21 international, who would fill Sane’s boots, is a long-term buy for Pep Guardiola, a he is four years younger than the new Bayern man.

With one year left on his current contract, Manchester City intend to swoop in and get their man at a reduced price, as Valencia also failed to secure Champions League qualification.

Valencia Unwilling to Sell

Valencia are reportedly unwilling to release their star prospect unless their £73 million valuation is met for the 20-year-old, according to the Telegraph’s James Ducker.

The Spaniard has a £91 million fee release clause but the club’s officials are willing to listen to offers starting from £73 million.

More Signings Expected For City

On the 13th of July, Manchester City were guaranteed their Champions League participation next season, after the CAS overruled their two-year ban.

Pep Guardiola can, therefore, splash the cash in attracting the very best talents, with Torres the first of many transfers expected at the Etihad.

Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly has been heavily linked with the Manchester club as Pep Guardiola desperately seeks to sort out his defensive frailty.

Nathan Ake has also been the subject of a £35 million switch to the Citizens as they hope to bolster their squad and challenge for the Premier League title next season.
