Wigan’s top goalscorer Kieffer Moore is once again on the radar of Preston North End.

Latics Facing Administration Threat

The Latics face a hefty 12-point deduction due to the club being placed into administration.

It means that most of the club’s most valuable and important players may need to be sold this summer to recoup some money. Moore is one of those who could attract some bids.

The striker has been prolific at the DW Stadium this season, bagging nine goals and chipping in with a further four assists in 34 appearances for the side.

Scoring for the Wales Team

Moore has become somewhat of a cult hero for his national side of Wales. He has appeared in four UEFA Euro qualifiers for his country so far and bagged two goals and one assist along the way.

It was his performances for Barnsley in League One that originally caught the eye of Preston. During the club’s 2018-19 season, he had 20 goal contributions in just 26 starts for the Tykes, as he helped the club to nab promotion back into the second tier of English football.

Preston Previously Interested in Kieffer Moore

After those showings, the Lilywhites made it known that they were keen to bring the striker to Deepdale. However, despite their efforts to try and bring him to the club, they were ultimately priced out of a move. Instead, he made the switch to Wigan for a fee of around £2m.

It now appears that North End are back in the running to sign Moore with the news of his potential availability. Wigan won’t want to let go of the 6ft 5in target man, especially if they manage to stay in the Championship but with the threat of administration looming large, they may have no choice but to cash-in on the forward while they can.
