Bluebirds In Fine Form

Cardiff go into Tuesday evening’s encounter buoyed by some great form. Undefeated in their last six matches, they have conceded only three goals in that time. That run of four wins and two draws included an impressive 2-0 win over Leeds United.

Despite having the fifth-best home record in the league, Cardiff have the lowest possession percentage for home games. Harris’ side averages out at just 44.2 per cent which only makes their performances even more spectacular.

Blackburn’s Travel Sickness

Tony Mowbray’s side have been woeful on the road as of late. Rovers have lost their last three away games and failed to score in any of them. What’s more, the Lancashire side have let in at least two goals in their last four away trips.

Blackburn suffered a tough 3-1 loss at the hands of Leeds United at the weekend whilst Cardiff won the Severnside derby 1-0 over Bristol City.

Happy Memories For Cardiff City

The Welsh side are unbeaten in their last ten matches against Blackburn. Mowbray’s side last beat Cardiff in 2005 and their last win in Wales dates back to 1985, also against the Bluebirds.

However, if you’re expecting goals then you may be left wanting. There have been under 2.5 goals in six of the last seven clashes between the two sides.

Team News

Neil Harris could have defender Greg Cunningham back in the squad after he resumed training recently following an ACL tear in October. Forward Danny Ward could push for a starting place after providing the only goal in Cardiff’s Severnside derby win.

The Rovers will remain without forward Ben Brereton as he sits out his second game of a three-match suspension. Midfielder Joe Rankin-Costello also remains a doubt for the midweek fixture.

Prediction: Cardiff City 1-0 Blackburn Rovers
