Teenager Extends Leeds United Deal

Bobby Kamwa has shown his commitment to Leeds United by signing a new contract with the Whites.

The 20-year-old’s new deal will last for two years, running until the summer of 2022.

Kamwa has shown huge amounts of development while participating in the youth setup at Thorp Arch.

Despite missing a large part of the current season through injury, Kamwa has impressed in Carlos Corberan’s Under-23 side.

The 20-year-old scored three goals in five appearances in the Professional Development League and the Premier League Cup before the season’s curtailment.

The Cameroonian, who turns 21 next March, was in strong form prior to the youth season’s suspension.

Kamwa has been a member of the Leeds United youth setup for a number of years.

The youngster signed his first professional contract with the Whites in March 2018.

But that deal has since expired, forcing the Yorkshire side to offer him new terms.

Since joining as a scholar, Kamwa has rapidly become one of the most highly-regarded players at Elland Road.

Kamwa will have aspirations of following the likes of Kalvin Phillips, Jamie Schackleton, Robbie Gotts and Leif Davis.

All of them have made strides into Marcelo Bielsa‘s side, although Kalvin Phillips is the only one to regular feature for the first-team.

The 24-year-old has made 34 Championship appearances this term, scoring one goal and adding two assists.

What Do the Fans Think?

Most Whites fans are of the view that Bielsa should offer the youngster a run-out with the first-team.

While that is unlikely to occur this term, with Leeds currently top of the Championship, the teen could be given the option of a loan move to progress.
