Reds Boss Signs New Deal

Lamouchi has been hailed as a success by the majority of Forest fans during his first 12 months at the City Ground.

He has turned the Reds from being a mid-table side to challenging for promotion to the Premier League this season.

The 48-year-old has been in contract talks with the Forest hierarchy for a number of months and, less than 24 hours before the Championship resumes, the news was confirmed.

After putting pen to paper, Lamouchi said: “I am honoured to be staying at this fantastic football club. It was always my intention to stay here for a long period when I signed last year.

“We have started to build a good team with fantastic characters and I am so pleased to be able to continue on my journey with them.

“I feel humbled by the level of support the fans have shown me since I arrived on day one and I am truly grateful for this.

“I am also thankful for the backing of our owner, Mr Marinakis, whose support for both myself and the team has been exceptional from the very beginning.”

Back to the Big Time?

Rumours of a new deal circulated more heavily in April.

The Frenchman took over from Martin O’Neill last June and, aside from a few inconsistencies, has engineered Forest’s most successful campaign in recent years.

The 2018-19 season saw Forest finish ninth, eight points off the play-offs

Forest finished the 2017-18 campaign in 17th; meanwhile, just a year beforehand they survived relegation to League One on goal difference.

The Reds sit fifth in the Championship, ten points behind second-placed West Bromwich Albion, but a play-off spot would be a deserved reward.
