Manchester United Looking at Deal for Victor Osimhen

Successful Season So Far for Victor Osimhen

With a £70 million price tag slapped on his head, you would expect Osimhen to be exceptional. This season, he has been just that. The Nigerian has scored 18 goals in his 38 appearances for Lille this campaign and assisted six. He has played all but one of their domestic games in 2019/20, and has been extremely impressive.

At the age of just 21, he has lots of time to grow, and this has attracted the likes of United and Real Madrid. The price of his signature may put many off, but according to the report, both the English and Spanish giants are willing to pay up.

Lille’s Other In-Demand Young Talent

Osimhen is not Lille’s only young player with big clubs coming after him. One of the hottest prospects in football currently, Boubakary Soumare, also plays for the Great Danes. He has attracted interest from all over Europe, with top sides from England and Spain most notably involved.

Liverpool have been in negotiations with him for some time, while Barcelona are planning a swoop for the 21-year-old. He, like Osimhen, could be on his way out in the summer, which would certainly hurt Lille.

Manchester United Want a Striker

Going into the summer transfer window, a striker is one of the main positions Manchester United are looking into. With Anthony Martial, who currently plays there, potentially on his way out of Old Trafford, United have started to look elsewhere.

They are in the race for Tottenham Hotspur’s English striker Harry Kane, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has been Arsenal’s best player this season.

Despite potentially being able to fix the Red Devils’ right-wing issue, having occasionally played there earlier in his career, Osimhen is a natural striker and could be a quality signing despite the high price.
