The Deal

Nottingham Forest announced via their website they had signed the defender. Bong joins on a permanent deal and becomes Sabri Lamouchi’s third January signing.

The Cameroon international has been an excellent servant for Brighton, helping them establish as a Premier League club. However, Bong has fallen down the pecking order under Graham Potter.

He has made 91 appearances for Brighton since joining the club in 2015, including helping them to promotion to the top flight.

He has made just four Premier League appearances this season, with Potter’s set up preferring Dan Burn and Bernando in the wing-back role.

The defender is already an experienced Championship player have played for both Brighton and Wigan Athletic. Bong’s contract at Brighton expires at the end of the season so a move to Forest suits all parties.

Sabri Lamouchi continues to look for experienced heads at the back. Bong is a vastly experienced full-back who will certainly want to add another promotion to his CV. He brings excellent defensive ability and good crossing which will certainly suit Lewis Grabban.

The defender will hope to feature this weekend against Birmingham City as Forest look to sneak into the automatic promotion places.

An Experienced Figure Ready to Help Nottingham Forest

Bong is a vastly experienced full-back and certainly, Sabri Lamouchi will be delighted to have him on board.

He is calm defensively and has the pace to track back and make the runs forward. His crossing is also excellent so the Forest attackers could certainly thrive off that.

Lamouchi relies on a solid defence and he will hope Bong can adapt to his tactics and recapture the form he showed when helping Brighton get promoted.
