The Deal

Bristol Rovers announced via their website they had signed the striker. Abraham arrives on loan for the remainder of the season as Rovers look to get their season up and running.

Abraham began his career at Charlton Athletic before joining Fulham’s academy in 2017. He has been a regular figure for the Fulham development team. This will be his first taste of EFL football, and he will be hoping to impress while at the Memorial Stadium.

The striker’s arrival continues Ben Garner’s recruitment drive since taking over in December. He is the new manager’s fifth signing as he looks to stamp his authority on the squad and implement his style of play.

Bristol Rovers were fourth when Garner took over, but the new manager is yet to win a game. As a result, Rovers sit 13th in League One, seven points adrift of the play-offs.

Garner is hoping Abraham can provide extra firepower and ease the pressure on top scorer Jonson Clarke-Harris. The Gas remain in the promotion race and Garner is confident his recruitment can mean Rovers can have a good season.

Abraham could make his Bristol Rovers debut against Coventry City this weekend.

What Was Said

Speaking to the Bristol Rovers website about his new signing, Garner said: “Timmy is a player that was identified by the Club prior to my arrival and a deal has been in motion for a long time.”

“We are therefore very pleased to be able to bring him in until the end of the season.”

“This is an opportunity for Timmy to experience League football and for us to see if he can impact our team. He offers different attributes to what we have and the potential to develop as a player. We welcome Timmy to the club and hope he settles in very quickly.”
