Undisclosed Fee

The Reds sign the 28-year-old forward for an undisclosed fee rumoured to be worth around two-million Euros.

Da Costa enjoyed promotion to France’s top-flight with Strasbourg; making 87 appearances including a number in the Europa League.

The talented forward is a Cape Verde international having featured in the qualification stages of the African Cup of Nations.

An addition to the attacking department has been key for Sabri Lamouchi this transfer window.

When Rafa Mir’s loan spell from Wolverhampton Wanderers was cut short, it left Lewis Grabban the only recognised forward.

Da Costa has linked up with his new teammates ahead of Saturday’s trip to face Birmingham City at St Andrew’s.

Attacking Options

The news of the Cape Verde international jetting into the City Ground comes shortly after rumours of a Tyler Walker recall emerged.

Walker, 23, has produced a number of encouraging performances while on-loan at Lincoln City for the first half of this season.

The young forward has scored 16 goals in 34 appearances for the Imps in League One.

What is a blow for Lincoln City is a boost for Nottingham Forest.

Should he be recalled to the City Ground, he will provide a third attacking option behind top-scorer Lewis Grabban and Da Costa.

As Sabri Lamouchi’s side enter the final few months of the season, however, having a number of attacking options available will really assist the Championship side’s hopes of promotion.

Lincoln City boss Michael Appleton said in the last few 48 hours: “We haven’t got much time.

“I’d like to think, from a courtesy point of view, that the loan lads in the building now will be here beyond Friday.

“If that’s the case I’ll be delighted.”
