Premier League Move

Everton have set their sights on signing Worrall this winter according to reports.

The Toffees are looking for a defender to provide cover and competition for places.

An Everton source has reportedly revealed to Football Insider that director of football Marcel Brands is keeping a close eye on the Forest defender.

The Everton official is evaluating the possibility of signing 22-year-old Worrall on a permanent deal, whereas Forest would more-than-likely prefer a loan switch.

Everton have conceded 20 goals from 13 Premier League fixtures, with Michael Keane recently being dropped as a result of poor performances.

Yerry Mina and Mason Holgate are the favoured pairing under boss Marco Silva currently.

Premier League Competition

The rumour of a move to Goodison Park follows a similar report by Football Insider that Arsenal are also interested in the defender.

Competition across the top-flight is one thing; however, both sides would need to convince Forest to sell Worrall.

The defender is playing a crucial role in Forest’s push for promotion; the Reds are currently fourth in the Championship and believe they have a genuine chance of promotion this term.

Worrall had previously slipped down the pecking order under former bosses Aitor Karanka and Mark Warburton; although, he has established himself as a first-choice option with Sabri Lamouchi.

The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at Glasgow Rangers where he was unable to cement his place in the starting eleven.
