Transfer Rumours

With the January transfer window three months away, rumours abound of players potentially switching clubs. In today’s edition of Football Transfer News, we’ll keep you up to date with some of football’s biggest clubs. Arsenal could see another high-profile player leave, while Manchester United hunt a new striker. All this and more is on the way.

Transfer Rumours: Mesut Ozil, Thomas Muller, Mario Mandzukic and Ruben Dias

‘Verbal Agreement’ Over Mandzukic

According to Mark Jones of The Mirror, Manchester United have reached a ‘verbal agreement’ with Mario Mandzukic over his transfer. The Croatian striker was close to joining United in the summer, but opted to stay at Juventus. However, things have not been greener in Turin; he has not featured all season, and is not a part of their Champions League squad. Now, it seems Mandzukic is set on a move to the Premier League in 2020 to escape his Juventus nightmare.

Ozil On His Way To Turkey?

Jake Lambourne of The Sun writes that Fenerbahce have opened talks with Arsenal over a loan deal for Mesut Ozil. The German attacking midfielder has not made the last three matchday squads at Arsenal. Now, speculation over his future is beginning to ramp up. Since the beginning of the season, Ozil has fallen below Dani Ceballos and Joe Willock in the pecking order. Turkish club Fenerbahce were interested in his signature over the summer, but nothing came of it. Now, they could renew this interest in the coming winter transfer window.

New Contract May Put Off Dias Suitors

United are also eyeing a potential new centre-back partner for Harry Maguire, namely Portuguese defender Ruben Dias. The 22-year-old central defender had many a suitor over the summer, but ended up staying with Benfica. As Adam Powers of the Express writes, whilst United are still interested in the Portuguese man, a new contract could put them off. This new contract will see Dias’ release clause rise from £59 million to £79 million. Despite recently handing Victor Lindelof a new contract, United may still choose to pursue the 22-year-old.

Unhappy Muller Could Seek Move

If James Sutton of Mail Online is to be believed, Thomas Muller could be seeking a move away from Bayern Munich. The German World Cup-winner has not started a match in nearly a month, and is growing ever annoyed at his periphery role. Growing more and more disillusioned with the coaching team under Niko Kovacs, 2020 may see Thomas Muller on the move. Various English clubs have expressed interest in the attacker in the past, namely Liverpool and Manchester United. Nothing ever came of their interest, though. With his position looking ever important at Bayern, this could be time for him to move.
