Chelsea Midfielder Target For Real Madrid

Midfield Upgrade

Since signing for Chelsea in 2016, N’Golo Kante has grown from strength to strength.

The 28-year-old World Cup winner has developed into one of the best performers in his position in the world. His fine performances for Chelsea has reportedly caught the eye of Zinedine Zidane’s Madrid.

A series of questionable performances from Casemiro have led to Madrid exploring possible replacements; therefore, Kante would be seen as an upgrade to the existing midfield.

European Battle

However, Real Madrid will have to fight for Kante’s signature if they are serious about signing the 28-year-old.

Juventus may look to sway the talented midfielder to Italy; the Italian side are confident that a fee of around £70 million would be enough to prise Kante away from Stamford Bridge.

A move to Juventus would have attraction; with Kante’s French compatriots Adrien Rabiot and Blaise Matuidi currently with the Serie A side.

Frank Lampard’s revolutionary changes at Chelsea have led to a surge in youthful figures breaking into the squad; the starting XI of Chelsea’s most recent side had an average age of just 24.9.

Therefore, Kante could look for a move away from the Capital in search of a new chapter.

The French international has made just four appearances so far this season due to a strained ankle. He did, however, score his second goal of the season upon his return in a 4-1 victory over Southampton on Sunday.

Chelsea are unable to sign any players until the end of the season after an investigation into the signing of foreign players under 18.
