Tottenham Hotspur’s Challenge: A Mountain to Climb

With three games gone, Tottenham have dropped points. Harry Kane knows they need to improve. This is Tottenham Hotspur’s challenge: a mountain to climb.
Tottenham Hotspur's Challenge

Tottenham Hotspur’s challenge for titles is already causing concern for Harry Kane. Kane has talked about his dream of winning trophies with Tottenham Hotspur but The Daily Mirror reports of Kane’s concerns after dropping points so early in the season.

Tottenham Hotspur’s Challenge: Mountain to Climb Already Looks Tough

Harry Kane ‘Disappointed’ With Spurs Premier League Start

Tottenham have just one win from their first three games. The manner of the performances is causing concern amongst fans and even Harry Kane can see that they must improve quickly. Whilst both Manchester City and Liverpool, last seasons top two by some distance, have carried on where they left off, so have Tottenham;

“As you’re seeing from Manchester City and Liverpool there is no letting up from them.”

The difference being that Tottenham look like a side low on confidence. Just four wins in the last 15 Premier League games is a record no one wants to have.

Dropped Points

“I said before the start of the season that if we could put a run together, get that momentum, maybe winning for two-three months on the spin without dropping any points…”

The only momentum Tottenham are showing so far is that their poor league form is continuing. Last season, Spurs lost a staggering 20 league games. The fact that they finished 4th losing so many games showed just how much work the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal have to do this season. That fourth-place finish papered over the cracks at Tottenham. Now those cracks are showing. Five points behind Liverpool after three games may not seem much. When you recognise that Liverpool lost 19 fewer games than Spurs last season, that gap already looks hard to bridge.

Losing to Arsenal Not An Option

With Tottenham Hotspur’s mountain to climb already looking a huge task, losing to Arsenal in the North London Derby is not an option;

You never want to go into an international break having lost or drawn. Of course a north London derby is as big as it gets. If we win that it makes the first four games a bit brighter.

“It won’t be easy, but we have to make sure we are prepared and ready for that one. It is still going to take a lot of hard work.”

Harry Kane is an honest person. He knows that Tottenham are not playing well. He also knows that one game can change their season for the better and what better game than the North London Derby? Lose and Tottenham Hotspur’s mountain might just become insurmountable.
