Liverpool’s Harry Wilson Completes Bournemouth Loan

Harry Wilson Bournemouth

Liverpool winger Harry Wilson has joined Bournemouth on a season-long loan. The 22-year-old impressed while on loan at Frank Lampard‘s Derby County last season. The Cherries had to pay £2.5 million for the loan with a possible further £500,000 in bonuses depending on the player’s performances. However, there is no option to buy.

Another Loan

This will be Wilson’s third loan as a Liverpool player. He spent last season with Derby County where he helped them to a sixth-place finish in the Championship. The Welshman made 46 appearances across all competitions, finding the back of the net on 17 occasions.

Harry Wilson spent the previous season with Hull City in England’s second tier. He scored seven goals across 14 appearances for the Tigers. Wilson’s first loan came back in the 2015/16 season when he joined Crewe Alexandra in League One for four months, making just seven appearances.

International Experience

While Harry Wilson doesn’t have any Premier League experience, he does have 11 Wales caps already. He has scored twice for his country, both in the year 2018. His first came against China in a 6-0 thrashing in the 2018 China Cup.

Wilson’s second international strike came against Ireland in the Nations League. That goal ended up being the decider in a tight 1-0 victory for Wales.

How Will he Fit?

Eddie Howe is no stranger to playing attacking football and Wilson should only help him do so. Alongside the likes of Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser, Harry Wilson will add substance and style to the Bournemouth attack.

Wilson himself said of the move, “It’s great to be here, great to finally get everything sorted and I can’t wait to meet all the staff and the lads. When Liverpool informed me it was a possibility to come here I was keen to get it sorted. I want to play Premier League football and with a great team like Bournemouth.”
