Arsenal Transfer Latest: Pépé, Shkodran Mustafi, Kieran Tierney and Laurent Koscielny

Arsenal transfer

As the transfer window hots up towards its conclusion in early August, Arsenal are becoming more and more active. Despite having only £45 million to work with earlier this summer, they could still be set to do some shrewd business. We will provide you with the latest transfer updates on Nicolas Pépé, Shkodran Mustafi, Kieran Tierney and Laurent Koscielny, as tweeted by David Ornstein.

Latest Arsenal Transfer News

Pépé Set For Medical Today

Ornstein reports that the transfer of Nicolas Pépé to Arsenal will go through later this week with the player having a medical in London on Tuesday. The fee will be a club-record €80 million, and the Ivorian winger will sign a five-year contract.

Arsenal will pay £20 million upfront for the winger, with the other £52 million coming in instalments over the next five years. As such, this is a deal that suited Arsenal’s tight budget.

Mustafi Could Be Sold

Ornstein also tweeted that Arsenal are considering letting German defender Shkodran Mustafi leave this summer. They are willing to let him go either on a loan or a permanent deal. However, Mustafi, whose contract runs until 2021, wants to stay and fight for his place.

Monaco have reportedly made an enquiry for the defender, and Arsenal would want £30 million for him. The Gunners are still chasing a new centre-back before the transfer deadline. They are also still eyeing left-back Kieran Tierney of Celtic and could make a late move for the 22-year-old.

Edu Meets With Rennes to Discuss Koscielny Move

According to Ornstein, Arsenal’s technical director Edu met with Rennes’ president and Koscielny’s representatives to discuss a move. Edu met both parties in London yesterday as talks over his departure from Arsenal progress.

The 33-year-old centre-back does not anticipate making another appearance for Arsenal, as he tries to force a way out of England. Talks are still ongoing, and there is, as of yet, no agreement between the separate parties.
