Aston Villa Sign £12 Million Defender From Brentford

Villans boss Dean Smith has bolstered his defensive options with the addition of Ezri Konsa.

The England Under-21 international made 47 appearances for the Bees after a £2.5 million move from Charlton in 2018.

The 21-year-old defender has reportedly been a key target for Smith; the Villans boss managed England youth international Konsa when at Brentford.

The addition of Konsa comes shortly after signing Tyrone Mings from Bournemouth. However, Villa are also exploring the possibility of re-signing Manchester United‘s Axel Tuanzebe on loan.

Konsa will link up with his Villa team-mates on Thursday when they fly to the United States for pre-season.

Moses Odubajo Makes Move North With Sheffield Wednesday

Moses Odubajo has acted quickly to determine his immediate future by signing for the Owls shortly after being released by Brentford.

The defender made 35 appearances for the bees last term. Odubajo has joined Sheffield Wednesday despite uncertainty regarding the future of manager Steve Bruce.

The 58-year-old is being considered for the vacant Newcastle United role.

Although, Odubajo was part of the Hull City side managed by Bruce that beat Wednesday in the 2015-16 Championship play-off final.

Brentford opted against triggering a 12-month option in Odubajo’s deal; meanwhile, the Owls not disclosing the length of his new contract in Yorkshire.
