Daniele De Rossi Transfer Rumours

Daniele De Rossi will stay in Italy and decide his new club later this week, according to Fabrizio Romano.  The Roman legend and World Cup winner left Roma last month after more than 17 years in the first team.  De Rossi had offers from MLS and Boca Juniors but has turned them down to stay in Italy.

De Rossi is currently deciding between three Italian clubs: Sampdoria, Fiorentina and, shockingly, AC Milan.  A move to Fiorentina or Sampdoria would make a ton of sense.  The step down in expectations and quality would suit the soon to be 36-year-old, but a move to Milan would be a fascinating case study.

De Rossi believes a move to Milan would not affect his standing with the Roman fans as Sky Italia reported.  Milan is looking for an experienced player to add to their dressing room.  It will be interesting to see if De Rossi is that man.

PSG in for Milinkovic-Savic

Paris Saint-Germain has taken their first concrete steps in their pursuit of Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.  The 23-year-old Serbian has been the subject of intense transfer speculation.  It is believed that Lazio would let him go for a bid around €100 million, but there is plenty of ways to go.

Corriere Dello Sport writer Daniele Ridone wrote that PSG began negotiations with Lazio sporting director Lotito over the weekend.  However, their reported initial bid of €55 million is far from Lazio’s valuation.  PSG may be willing to go as high as €75 million.  But their Financial Fair Play situation would likely prevent them from reaching as high as Lotito’s value.
