Fulham Interested in Britt Assombalonga

Teeside Live are reporting that relegated Fulham are interested in Middlesbrough’s Britt Assombalonga. Fulham are expecting Aleksandar Mitrovic to leave this summer and are already looking at replacements. Assombalonga scored 16 goals last season and Fulham see him as the perfect addition.

Middlesbrough are unlikely to want to let their striker leave. They are set to appoint a new manager and would want their whole squad available for him. Should their new man decide to cash in, it is unlikely that Fulham or anyone else would get him cheaply. Should ‘Boro indicate they are willing to sell, Fulham should expect competition.

Cardiff Set Sights on Will Vaulks

Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock is already planning for next season in the Championship. His first signing could be Rotherham midfielder Will Vaulks. Football Insider are reporting that Cardiff are set to bid for the Welsh International.

Rotherham were relegated to League One last season; however, midfielder Vaulks impressed. He scored eight goals and created seven goals as the Millers were relegated. Vaulks is entering the final year of his contract. Rotherham, therefore, could find it difficult to hold on to their star man.

Leeds Targeting Jamal Lowe

Jamal Lowe could still find himself playing Championship football next season. Portsmouth will play League One football again next season after defeat by Sunderland in the play-off semi-finals. Pompey’s winger scored 17 goals last season, and according to Leeds Live, several clubs are interested.

One of the interested clubs is Leeds United. Like Portsmouth, they to suffered play-off disappointment. Lowe has one year left on his current deal. Should Lowe leave Portsmouth would not get a huge fee, but a fee would need to be agreed. West Bromwich Albion and Middlesbrough are also thought to be interested in the 25-year-old.

Rangers Want Oldham’s Edmundson

The Daily Mail are reporting that Scottish giants Rangers want Oldham defender George Edmundson. Rangers have reportedly made a bid for the 21-year-old. However, this was rejected by Oldham. It is understood that the League Two club want in the region of £450,000.

Several other clubs are believed to have also submitted bids. Like Rangers, their bids were rejected. Oldham finished mid-table in League Two last season and money is in short supply. A bidding war would be the best outcome for Oldham; however, it is unknown whether the interested clubs would be willing to enter into a bidding war.
