The Lions Have Announced Their Retained List Following the End of the 2018/19 Season

Jordan Archer, Tom King, Sid Nelson, Conor McLaughlin and Ryan Tunnicliffe have been told that their contracts won’t be renewed. Ben Marshall and Ben Amos will return to their respective clubs, Norwich City and Bolton Wanderers, after loan spells.

Millwall also confirmed that fellow loanee Alex Pearce will join the club permanently from July 1. Tom Elliott and Steve Morison have had clauses in their contract activated, meaning they are retained for the 2019/20 season.

David Martin and Lee Gregory have been offered fresh terms. However, the latter is set to leave The Den after informing the Lions of his intention to move away.

After five years with the Lions, the striker is reportedly close to moving to Stoke City.

Lee Gregory announced his decision to leave Millwall by tweeting: “Been thinking for a few days what I could say and its been hard to find the best way to say it.

“I’ve had the best five years I could have ever had, from day 1 the fans and the club have welcomed me with a great reception and I am so thankful for everything you have given me. As hard as it is for me its time for me to move on and go to the next chapter in my career.

“I want to thank the lads which I am to miss massively and what a set of lads, the staff for everything they have done for me, from the gaffer all the way through to the girls in the office that looked after me, you have helped me so much and it didn’t go unnoticed.

“Then last of all the crazy fans that have supported me over the years, you have been amazing through good and bad times and to now vote me your player of the season has just topped it off for me.”
