Gareth Southgate has named his initial 27-man squad for England’s Nations League Final this summer, including captain Harry Kane. This starts with a semi-final against the Netherlands after England won their group consisting of Spain and Croatia.

Little Surprise
Southgate has sprung no real surprises with his selection, keeping it similar to the last few international breaks. Declan Rice and Jadon Sancho are the two young faces included in the squad, while Southampton forward Nathan Redmond is perhaps the only surprise inclusion.
Captain Harry Kane is also in the squad despite not yet returning from injury for Tottenham Hotspur. The match against the Netherlands comes just a week after the Champions League final in which Spurs will play Liverpool.
There’s also a return to the squad for Fabian Delph, Joe Gomez, Jesse Lingard and Harry Winks, who all missed March’s games through injury.
The first group of players to report for training next week will include those whose clubs finished their campaigns last weekend.
Players from Manchester City, involved in the FA Cup Final against Watford on Saturday, will then link up in the week commencing Monday 27 May.
With Liverpool, Spurs and Chelsea all involved in UEFA finals the following weekend, players from those clubs are expected to join the group in the week commencing Monday 3 June before the squad travel to Portugal, per the FA website.

Nathan Redmond
The Southampton forward is the one that raises eyebrows with his inclusion, but Southgate had good justification for his decision.
