Tough Yorkshire Derby Ahead for Bradford City

Bradford City

Bradford City are currently propping up the League One table, making every game a must-win as they aim to preserve their League One status. After Bradford’s terrible season so far, the likelihood of surviving one of the most intense relegation dogfights in recent years is slim to none, or more believably none to none.

The fans are exasperated, the players timid and the results are dire. This, coupled with the fact they are facing a high-flying Doncaster tomorrow, will make cleaning the garage, painting the shed, or even visiting the in-laws a more exciting weekend prospect than returning to Valley Parade.

Bradford City v Doncaster Rovers Preview

Doncaster Rovers fans, on the other hand, should be looking forward to picking up three points as they aim to end the season on a high and cement their place in the playoffs. They have scored seven goals in their last two games and will be relishing the chance to create another goal glut against Bradford City’s shaky defence.

Doncaster are yet to win away from home this year, and that will be a slim glimmer of hope for Bradford, but anything over than a convincing win would cause outrage with Donny supporters.

Team news

Doncaster

Doncaster’s team should be largely unchanged from their last outing but have been buoyed by the return of midfielder Ben Whiteman, after his ankle injury has ruled him out since the 9th of March. Herbie Kane, Joe Wright and Ian Lawlor remain injured and unavailable for the game.

Bradford

Bradford have welcomed back Sean Scannell after his five-month lay off, caused by a fractured back, kept him out of the squad. Daniel Devine has also recovered from his injury woes and will likely feature on the City bench. Kelvin Mellor, Jake Reeves, and Calum Woods all remain injured.
