REPORT: AC Milan Sign Krzysztof Piatek

One of the biggest revelations in world football, Krzysztof Piatek, has signed for AC Milan.  The Polish striker was a £4 million signing for Genoa over the summer.  Now he will be the new striker for roughly €35 million plus bonus, according to tweets from Fabrizio Romano.

AC Milan Sign Krzysztof Piatek

It has been a meteoric rise for the now Polish international striker.  The 23-year-old had spent his entire career playing at various clubs in the Polish league.  His most recent club was Cracovia, where he bagged a pretty solid return of 11 league goals in his first season, and 21 league goals last season, earning his move to Genoa.

Since moving to Genoa he has really hit the ground running.  He’s already got 13 goals in his first season in Serie A, second only to Cristiano Ronaldo, but what has been more impressive is how much Genoa have relied on him.  His 13 goals are over half of Genoa’s tally all season.

This is why they are so keen to get a pretty penny for Piatek.  The reported €40 million fee would mean a roughly €31 million profit, the type of money a club like Genoa are over the moon for, but Milan might be even happier.

They are not happy to be spending the money but, after their striker Gonzalo Higuain decided to leave for Chelsea, they need a replacement, and the 23-year-old Polish punisher might just be the man they have been looking for.  He is a lethal finisher and great at using the machinations around him.

Plus, he’s great at connecting with balls into the box.  Gattuso’s Milan has found most of their success using a 4-4-2 system and Piatek should slot quite well into the lead striker’s spot next to Parick Cutrone. The move would also create plenty of depth for Milan should they decide to play with one striker through the middle.
