A Zlatan Ibrahimovic Return To AC Milan Still a Possibility

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

AC Milan are on the hunt for a third striker. During the summer, many names shortlisted and among them was Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The deal seemed unlikely, but now it seems very possible due to many circumstances. The Swede may be back in Milan by January.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic Return To AC Milan Still a Possibility

Zlatan Ibrahimovic had a good time with the Rossoneri, scoring 56 goals and assisting 24 in 85 appearances. He won a league title and one super cup and this earnt him a spot in AC Milan’s hall of fame. Although he won more with their city rivals Inter, it can be said his spell in the red side of Milan was a pleasant one.

Currently, his stint in the United States has been going fine for the 37-year-old, though some disappointment has occurred. Ibrahimovic scored 22 goals in only 27 MLS appearances, though this wasn’t enough as LA Galaxy failed to qualify to the play-offs. This failure reportedly caused the former Manchester United man to seek a departure from North America.

According to Calcio Mercato, AC Milan and Ibrahimovic are interested in reuniting with each other. In the last few days, Zlatan’s agent, Mino Raiola, has met with Milan sporting director Leonardo. The discussion was mostly about a contract renewal for Giacomo Bonaventura, though the topic could have shifted toward Ibrahimovic.

The former Paris Saint-Germain man wants a return to Europe, with Real Madrid also interested, though he prefers a return to AC Milan. He isn’t willing to wait another year to compete once again in the league with a team that isn’t at their best. A return to Italy would be perfect for him as the Milanese devils desperately need to add another striker to their squad.

The four-time Serie A winner could be in Italy by January. His contract expires in 2019 and if he rejects an extension, Milan can get him for cheap. Patrick Cutrone, Gonzalo Higuain and Zlatan Ibrahimovic would be an attack that can strike fear into any opponent.
