Luka Modric Ready To Leave Madrid For Italy

Luka Modric

Luka Modric is, no doubt, one of the best players in the world. With 19 trophies won, he has established himself as one of the best to ever play in his position. His time at Real Madrid has been very successful but the whole team is going through a dark phase. His time in Spain could be coming to an end as the Croatian sets his sights on Italy.

Luka Modric is upset in Madrid. Most of his unhappiness is coming from the poor results his club are obtaining. He is also angered that the Los Blancos didn’t sign a proper replacement after Ronaldo’s departure. The 33-year-old feels that the club is slowly deteriorating, which isn’t good for his future.

During the summer, reports stated that Inter were interested in the central midfielder. Rumours grew larger throughout the transfer window, but he ended up staying in Spain. According to Don Balon, Modric is interested in a move to the Nerazzuri. The move could take place as early as January.

The Italian club are in very good form and their team contains world-class players. Inter are in better form than Real Madrid, higher up their respective table and obtaining better results. The team’s confidence was boosted after a last-minute win over rivals AC Milan.

Modric would lend a great hand in the club’s league and European campaigns. The former Spurs man, who is the current holder of the UEFA Best Player award, would add to an already powerful Inter midfield. They are looking to challenge for the Serie A title and also for the Champions League trophy.

The four-time Champions League winner is reportedly open to moving to the San Siro. His contract finishes in 2020 and, if he does not renew, Madrid could be in real trouble. This winter, Modric could cost Inter only around €30 million. Contract talks are unlikely to be successful in the Spanish capital so the Croatian can now follow the current Ballon d’Or holder to Italy.
