Captaincy Picks

There is a really strong contender for the captaincy pick this week. Some might even consider using the Triple Captain chip on him this week. With a very juicy home game against the joint leakiest defence in the league, Harry Kane has to be your first consideration for the armband. He doesn’t have the best record at home against the supposedly smaller sides though and also played the full 90 minutes in a highly charged and energy-sapping game against Barcelona. Still, one has to be very brave to leave him out.

With Liverpool facing Manchester City at home, there aren’t that many standout fixtures to choose your captain from. The only other strong contender is Eden Hazard, who has an away trip to Southampton. The Belgian is in red-hot form and is scoring goals almost every time he starts these days. Unlike Kane, he only played 35 minutes on Thursday so should be relatively fresh. It is possible for Chelsea to get a big win against Saints, who are in absolutely terrible form. Hence, one might consider Hazard, or even Marcos Alonso, for the armband.

Out of the box captaincy options could be Jamie Vardy, Romelu Lukaku, Alexandre Lacazette or Kieran Trippier.

Injury Concerns

Due to the Friday night match, team news has not been available as yet. It would be better to wait for confirmed team news.

Christian Eriksen remains injured which might be another reason to consider Hazard as your captain. Without Eriksen and also Dele Alli, Spurs will have to rely on other players to create chances.

Benjamin Mendy might make the squad against Liverpool. However, it’s unlikely that he will start.
