Yerry Mina

One week remains in the football transfer window for Premier League clubs and there will be plenty of movement in the next seven days. Football Transfer News today looks at possible moves for Yerry Mina, Lewis Cook, Mateo Kovacic and Max Meyer. Keep up to date with all the latest football transfer news right here from Last Word on Football.

Latest on Mina, Cook, Kovacic and Meyer

Mina No Longer Wanted by Toffees

Yerry Mina is no longer a target for Everton as they are unwilling to meet Barcelona’s valuation for the player. Everton were confident that they could land the player for £27 million but Barca are not interested in selling for less than £35 million.

Mina had a strong World Cup for Colombia and has also attracted attention from Manchester United. Everton are still monitoring the situation with Mina but if Barca don’t budge, they may turn their attention to other targets including Manchester United’s Marcus Rojo.

Tottenham Look to Cook

Spurs have yet to make any signings in this transfer window. Mauricio Pochettino is said to be interested in Bournemouth’s U21 player Lewis Cook. Cook was one of Bournemouth’s star players last season and led England U20’s to World Cup glory.

With a move for Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish looking to have cooled, Pochettino sees Cook as a player who fits into his ethos. Bournemouth value the player at £30 million and would make a large profit for the club as they signed him for just £7 million. Cook is contracted to the south coast club until 2020.

Mourinho Puts Mateo Kovacic off United

Marca report that Manchester United target Mateo Kovacic is not interested in a move to the club from Real Madrid. The Croatian has made little secret of his desire to leave Madrid to get more playing time but sees United as a bad move.

Kovacic feels his style of play is not in line with how Jose Mourinho sets his teams up. United are said to have offered £60 million for Kovacic. The player will join up with his teammates for pre-season but will make it clear that he wants to leave the Spanish giants, just not for the Red Devils.

Palace in for Max Meyer

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson appears to have pulled off a transfer masterstroke. 22-year-old Max Meyer is available on a Bosman free transfer and has passed his medical with Palace, according to the Sun.

Meyer needs to finalise personal terms but with some of Europe’s top clubs having shown interest in the four times capped German international, this could prove to be the signing of the summer.
