Latest on Sadio Mane, Maguire, Mawson and Forster

Show Me the Mane!

Reports have emerged in the last 24 hours suggesting that Jurgen Klopp is looking to reward the stellar performances of Sadio Mane with a new five-year contract. Mane would join his attacking counterparts Roberto Firmino and Salah by signing a new long-term contract which would keep him at the club for the foreseeable future.

The new Liverpool number ten is likely to sign the contract without much hesitation, even though there was rumoured interest from Real Madrid at the start of the summer. Mane would receive a substantial pay rise just two years after joining the club from Southampton.

Liverpool’s squad, whilst being bolstered by incoming transfers, is also strengthened by the commitment shown by its key players when signing long-term deals. Mane is just another name to add to the list.

Maguire New Deal?

After significant speculation regarding a £65 million move to Manchester United in the last week, Claude Puel has said that he expects Maguire to be playing for the Foxes in the coming season.

In order to confirm this, it is rumoured that a new £95,000 a week contract has been drawn up to convince the England international to stay. This would be a £45,000 increase from his current £50,000 a week deal. This is a significant investment from Leicester, who only signed Maguire from Hull last summer.

This news will be hard to swallow for fans of Manchester United fans as their search for a new central defender looks set to continue into the last week of the transfer window.

Mawson to Fulham?

This summer has been a busy one for Fulham in terms of transfers. Along with deals for Jean Michael Seri and Andre Schurlle, it is now looking increasingly likely that Swansea defender Alfie Mawson will be joining the newly-promoted outfit.

Negotiations between Fulham and Swansea are ongoing with the player reportedly being valued at around £20 million. Talks are at an advanced stage and the deal is set to be finalised in the next 48 hours.

Mawson is another impressive signing for Fulham. He was one of the few highlights in a bleak season for Swansea. He will want to continue his good form in a Fulham shirt.

Burnley in For Forster

The new season is set to be a big one for Burnley. With European football to look forward to, the last thing they needed was an injury to shot-stopper Nick Pope. The England keeper is set to be sidelined for three months following a dislocated shoulder. With Tom Heaton also having sustained a long-term injury last season, a new keeper is needed.

Sean Dyche has reportedly set his sights upon Southampton keeper Fraser Forster. The 30-year-old has vast amounts of Premier League experience. A loan deal would be ideal for both clubs as Southampton look to reduce their wage bill.

Whilst not being a spectacular signing for Burnley, it is a necessary one. Bringing in Forster on loan is a smart move and could be completed in the coming week.
