Mexico 0-3 Sweden: Both Teams Advance

Sweden started playing better, putting some pressure on Mexico’s defence and making Ochoa work a lot on the first minutes. But after the 15th minute, the match got heated up and both teams fought for the goal, showing great interest in the spot on the Round of 16.

The VAR was used to check a possible hand touch of Chicharito within the Mexican area, but the referee didn’t call the penalty. Zero to zero in the first half at Ekaterinburg Arena.

Swedish Supremacy

The second half begun agitated as Augustinsson scored for Sweden in less than five minutes. The Europen team came from the right side of the pitch and showed superiority over the Mexican defense to open the scoreboard.

By the 15th minute, Moreno gave a quite violent entrance on Berg and the referee called a penalty. Granqvist, the Swedish captain, scored and enlarged his team’s partial victory.

Mexico just couldn’t play during the second half, and to get things even worse, Alvares got lost in front of Ochoa and scored the third Swedish goal by mistake.

After the third goal, Mexico got a little better and took some danger to his opponent’s area. However, but the ball didn’t seem to want to enter the net for the North Americans.

Happy Ending
