Luka Modric back to Tottenham?
Croatian World Cup hero, Luka Modric, is being linked with a shock move back to North London. The 32-year-old midfielder is reportedly considering a return to Spurs just in time for the opening of their new stadium. The Real Madrid man has won four Champions League titles in the Spanish capital. His experience would be a welcome addition to Mauricio Pochettino’s youthful squad. This story is doing the rounds in Spain. With fellow Croat midfielder Matteo Kovačić unhappy with his game time, Madrid may sacrifice Modric to secure Kovačić’s future.
West Ham interested in Jack Wilshere
London side West Ham United are interested in free agent Jack Wilshere. The English midfielder was released by Arsenal this summer and was a boyhood fan of the Hammers. The injury-plagued footballer was told that he would not be first choice at Arsenal. He would likely struggle for minutes at the Emirates. Following his omission from this summer’s English World Cup squad, any further regression in the 26-year-old’s playing time would completely kill off his chances of adding to his 34 England caps. West Ham can offer Wilshere first team football. At 26 years old and a free agent, signing Wilshere is a no-brainer for West Ham, regardless of his injury record — so long as they can afford his wages.
Dembele’s future
Tottenham midfielder Moussa Dembele has vowed to never play for another English club besides Tottenham. The Belgian called Tottenham “my team”. The midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to either the Chinese Super League or Italian Serie A. However, he has insisted that no deal is in place at the minute. He has admitted there is a possibility that he could leave.
Alisson Becker to Los Blanco’s
Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker is reportedly set to snub Liverpool in favour of Real Madrid. The Brazil international is rumoured to prefer the “continental weather” that Spain has to offer, as well as guarantees of Champions League football every season. Jurgen Klopp is rumoured to have begun searching for replacements. Nick Pope of Burnley, Joe Hart of Man City and Jack Butland of Stoke all said to be on the German’s radar.
