Latest Rose, Coutinho, and Ibrahimovic Transfer News

Danny Rose

Sky Sports are reporting that left-back Danny Rose would consider joining Chelsea or Manchester United if Tottenham are prepared to make the transfer happen.

He was quoted in The Sun: “time is running out” to win trophies and he would have “no qualms” telling making his feelings known to Tottenham management. In a way, he now already has.

Mauricio Pochettino has been a long admirer of Rose in his time in North London. With the club not having made any form of transfer in this summer, fans are growing concerned over the lack of progress with other top clubs making strives. If they were to lose Rose, surely it would be a step backwards barring incoming talent to replace him.

Philippe Coutinho

A second bid from Barcelona for talented playmaker Philippe Coutinho has been rejected by Liverpool. A £72m bid for the Brazilian was rejected last month. With Neymar having been sold for £200m last week, certainly there is money to spend and a spot in the squad.

Sky Sports are reporting the latest bid from the Catalan club was for €85m up front, with €15m in add-ons. Liverpool management have been clear in their desire to keep Coutinho, saying he’s not for sale. But for a club who are rumoured to be in some degree of financial trouble, certainly the price tag must be at least worth careful consideration.

Ousmane Dembele

Borussia Dortmund are looking to cash in big time on highly coveted Ousmane Dembele. Several sources including from Sky Sports in Germany, have suggested a £135m asking price to complete the transfer.

The player is keen on the move according to several close to him, looking to replace hte recently departed Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain. With Coutinho also in the mix at a lower price tag, it’s hard to tell which would be the better buy for Barcelona.

Serge Aurier

This week, Serge Aurier has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United. The Metro have reported that “Manchester United agrees to a five-year contract with Serge Aurier ahead of transfer.”

The arrival of the Ivorian would increase the competition for current right back, Antonio Valencia. The Ecuadorian was phenomenal last season, both going forward and defending and the arrival of Aurier will only make him more determined to work hard to maintain his position in United’s first XI. Aurier is currently banned from entering the UK due to an assault conviction, however he is still hopeful that this is overturned.

Danny Drinkwater

After losing Nemanja Matic to Manchester United, Chelsea are now looking to sign Danny Drinkwater.

Chelsea have already completed the signing Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco, however the club are still looking to sign another centre midfielder. The English international, was a key man in Leicester’s title winning campaign and would be a huge loss to the Foxes.

Joining Chelsea would see Drinkwater reunited with former teammate N’Golo Kante, the pair worked very well together during the 2015-16 season and understand each others game very well. However, earlier this week the Metro reported that “Craig Shakespeare tells Chelsea manager Antonio Conte that Danny Drinkwater will be staying at Leicester City.”

This transfer is still in the early stages of development, however with three more years on his contract, the Foxes are unlikely to let go of one of their key men.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

It appears Zlatan Ibrahimovic has renewed his interest in staying at Manchester United for another season. Having recovered from a knee injury he picked up in the latter stages of this past season, the 35-year-old feels he’s ready to carry on at the club.

Ibrahimovic is a free agent after his contract at Old Trafford expired in June. However, La Repubblica are claiming that agent Mino Raiola has suggested Ibrahimovic is being courted by AC Milan.
