Crystal Palace remain keen on Mamadou Sakho

Crystal Palace are still interested in Liverpool’s centre-back Mamadou Sakho, but Liverpool have no intention of lowering their asking price of £30m, according to The Mirror. The formidable price tag has already been reported as a big stumbling block for a permanent deal to be struck. Sakho spent the second half of 2016/17 with the Eagles on loan and put in a number of high-quality performances for them, while it’s still unclear whether he will be able to regain the trust of Jurgen Klopp after falling out with the Liverpool manager.

Paris Saint-Germain ready to pry Alexis Sanchez from the Emirates

Arsenal’s star striker Alexis Sanchez may cost more than £40m, and Sky Sports is reporting that their sources are saying that Paris Saint-Germain are prepared to meet that asking price. However, Arsenal are claiming they have yet to receive any official offers from the French club pertaining to Alexis, and continue to stand by Arsene Wenger’s staunch quip that the club will not be selling him. Until the window closes, consider anyone and everyone fair game.

Lazar Markovic attracting interest

Watford and Hull City are both interested in signing Lazar Markovic for £8m, which would require Liverpool to acknowledge a £13m loss on the player. Signed for £21m in 2014 by Brendan Rodgers, the Serbia international played his first season at Anfield mostly as a wing-back, and the two following seasons on loan at Fenerbahce, Sporting Lisbon and Hull City, where he worked under the current Watford manager Marco Silva and performed well. However, he has so far failed to impress Jurgen Klopp and the German openly stated that offers for the winger would be considered.

Jose Mourinho remains coy about future business

Manchester United manager José Mourinho remains discreet about his side’s transfer proceedings in his pre-match press conference for the pre-season friendly against Spanish side Barcelona in Washington DC.

Mourinho confirmed that Woodward knows what he wants , but refused to provide a serious update:: “I have balance. I understand the situation and the market. I’m calm – I like my squad. I trust them.”

United have already signed Romelu Lukaku and Victor Lindelöf, while reports lately have linked them to Fabinho, Nemanja Matić and Ivan Perišić. He further added that Ed Woodward knows what he wants and that he is prepared to face the consequences should the club not complete their intended deals.

Renato Sanches ready for a new challenge

Renato Sanches seems ready to call it quits after just one season with Bayern Munich.

Last season’s hottest commodity chose the German champions over Manchester United, yet has not been satisfied with his choice.

Currently on tour in China with Munich, Sanches has admitted that he would leave the Allianz Arena in pursuit of first team football. He believes that he’s more likely to achieve this in Milan, rather than force his way into Carlo Ancelotti’s first 11.

Milan have had an outstanding summer. Having already added the likes of Leonardo Bonucci, Hakan Calhanoglu and Ricardo Rodriguez to name a few, Sanches would join a club with their eyes firmly fixed on success. Discussions should pick up when Munich return from China.
