Hoffenheim Continue Impressive Season

The 2016-17 Bundesliga league season has been full of surprises, one of which is the resurgence of Hoffenheim. After finishing 15th during the 2015-16 campaign, the West German club are currently on course to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

Hoffenheim Continue Impressive Season

Friday’s win against Hertha Berlin was a massive step forward for Hoffenheim. The club are continuing to distance themselves from the rest of the league as they hold an eight-point advantage over Hertha. Only RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund are within reach of displacing the club.

After going down 1-0 in the 32nd minute, Hoffenheim came back to score three consecutive goals, led by Andrej Kramaric’s brace. Niklas Süle’s goal proved to be the match-winner as he produced a truly world-class finish.

The win on Friday evening extends Hoffenheim’s unbeaten streak to six matches in the German top flight. Manager Julian Nagelsmann has led the club to a fine run of form and the young coach is quickly becoming one of the top managers in Europe.

Up next, Bayern Munich awaits. It could be a massive result for Hoffenheim if they can upset the German giants. In their first meeting of the season, the match ended in a 1-1 deadlock. Additionally, the club will put their unbeaten home record on the line as they have yet to lose a match at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena.

It will be one of the top match-ups of the Bundesliga season, as it pits the club with the best away record against a club with one of the best home records. The difference could come at the goalkeeper position, as Manuel Neuer will not be available for selection on Wednesday.

As the month continues, the pressure will be on for Hoffenheim to continue their impressive run of form. Their European dream is well within reach, and now all they have to do is capitalise on the opportunity at hand.
