Arizona Diamondbacks Update Their Spring Training Schedule
The Arizona Diamondbacks released their updated spring training schedule for 2022 on Friday afternoon. They open Thursday, March 17 and will play 20 games across the Cactus League sites. A single exhibition game follows, coming April 5 at Chase Field against the newly named Cleveland Guardians.
Cactus League Opponents
Ten of their Cactus League games are home games. Two of the ten road games come at Salt River Fields against their co-tenant, the Colorado Rockies, while the other eight come against the Chicago Cubs, Guardians (split-squad, or ss), Kansas City Royals, Los Angeles Angels, Milwaukee Brewers, San Francisco Giants, Seattle Mariners (ss), and Texas Rangers.
The Diamondbacks will not face the Oakland Athletics at all in Spring Training 2022. They will also not host the Royals, Brewers, or Giants. In addition, they will not play the Chicago White Sox, Cincinnati Reds, Los Angeles Dodgers, or San Diego Padres on the road.
