A Heritage Cup match headlines this week’s NXT UK as Tyler Bate defends the championship against Jack Starz. The show will be dominated by championships as two former champions will also go head-to-head and the newly crowned NXT UK Women’s Champion will give her first address.
NXT UK will air on the WWE Network and Peacock at 8 pm GMT/3 pm EST on July 1. Fans in the UK can also watch the show a day later on BT Sport.
We know the Heritage Cup match headlines, but what else can we expect? Below, we take a look at all the matches and segments planned for this week’s NXT UK.

Tyler Bate’s Handpicked First Heritage Cup Defence
Tyler Bate selected Jack Starz as his first challenger for his recently acquired Heritage Cup Championship as he’s been impressed with the work Starz has been putting in in the Performance Center. Starz originally turned down the opportunity as he felt he hadn’t earned the chance to challenge for the Cup.
But after a few stern words from Dave Mastiff and some reflection on his career so far, Starz decided he was worthy. Does Starz have what it takes to challenge Bate, or will it be a cakewalk for the ‘Big Strong Boy?’

A-Kid Looks to Prove Devlin is a Loser on NXT UK
A-Kid irked Jordan Devlin when he had the nerve to help himself to the tea and coffee-making facilities in ‘The Irish Ace’s’ personal dressing room. Devlin was further irritated when A-Kid flat-out refused the leave. Sid Scala booked a match between the two. A-Kid has since explained his goading of Devlin. He feels that Devlin needs to learn the valuable lesson that everyone eventually loses.
Devlin has tried to present himself as being above the entire NXT UK roster since he returned from his jaunt to the United States. The reality here is that both these men have recently dropped titles. A-Kid lost the Heritage Cup Championship to Tyler Bate and Devlin saw his Cruiserweight title fall into the hands of Santos Escobar.
As a result, both competitors could do with picking up a win. This makes for an interesting and unpredictable contest.

Meiko Satomura Speaks
Meiko Satomura ended Kay Lee Ray’s 649-day NXT UK Women’s Championship run in an incredible match a few weeks ago. This week, she will address the NXT UK Universe. It’s hard to predict exactly what she will say but the wise bet would be that she will welcome all challenges to the title.
NXT UK’s women’s division has been undergoing a real improvement recently with more time being given to building up many new stars. There’s also been a couple of marquee signings as well as some trials and matches handed to some indie darlings. What that essentially gives us is a lot of people that might feel now is the right time to take their shot at ‘The Final Boss.’ This segment will probably set up Satomura’s first successful title defense and not present her with much to worry about.
What Else Could Happen on NXT UK?
In short, a lot. A lot could happen. NXT UK has been developing a lot of storylines recently. United Kingdom Champion WALTER choked out Ilja Dragunov after he’d won an unofficial No.1 contender’s match last week. We can expect the fall out from that.
Subculture challenged NXT UK Tag Team Champions Pretty Deadly last week, so we can expect to see if that will be accepted. Emilia McKenzie and Isla Dawn agreed they have unfinished business so that could happen.
Also, Teoman allied with Rohan Raja – seemingly based on their similarities in hairstyles. This will even things up in Teoman’s feud with Oliver Carter and Ashton Smith. Teoman has defeated them both in singles matches but now he has Raja by his side a tag team showdown seems inevitable.
