Preview: AEW Dark: Elevation (6/14/21) – Indie Veteran Arik Cannon Debuts

Arik Cannon Debut Match

“Monday Night Fight Night” is upon us all. We start the week off, as always, with a bang with AEW Dark: Elevation. Everyone’s favorite Monday night wrestling habit is offering another night of non-stop action. A bunch of young stars as well as an elder statesman of the wrestling business will be making their debuts on this week’s show. The theme of the week seems like it’s the young blood versus the old school. The veterans of the AEW locker room will size up the new stars that could possibly take over the wrestling business in the years to come. But, don’t think for a minute that these young guns will take this lying down. The new blood will definitely give it their all to prove that they belong and can hang with the best AEW has to offer. And in the main event, it’s about to get very personal as two combatants with no love lost finally settle the score. Let’s not keep anyone waiting any longer. Let’s get ready to rumble and run it down!

Bitter Enemies, Better Friends

Arik Cannon Debut Match

It seems like the animosity has died down between former enemies Penta El Zero Miedo and Eddie Kingston. The duo plus PAC managed to get their revenge against Brandon Cutler and The Young Bucks on last week’s edition of AEW Dynamite. The trio set their differences aside to achieve one common goal; Retribution. Cutler and the Bucks better think twice before they ever mess with Death Triangle and Kingston ever again. Now that it’s all water under the bridge, Penta and Eddie will team up on Dark: Elevation against Kevin Blackwood and an Indie veteran making his AEW debut Arik Cannon. Cannon has been a mainstay on the Independent scene for over 20 years. He has competed for the likes of IWA Mid-SouthCHIKARADragon Gate USA, and, the short-lived Wrestling Society X. Arik Cannon is finally in the big dance after two decades. But, this might not be the storybook ending Cannon expects considering he’s going to make his debut against two of the baddest wrestlers AEW has on their roster. Will Blackwood and Cannon defy the odds or will Penta and Kingston prove to be too much?

Students Of The Game

Two more up-and-comers will be making their AEW debuts against the established stars of All Elite Wrestling. As Cameron Cole goes up against Orange Cassidy. And Joe Keys in tag team action in his debut, teama up with Deonn Rusman against Aaron Solow and QT Marshall of The Factory. Cameron Cole is a seven-year veteran of the industry mainly recognized for his work in Reality of Wrestling wherein he is a former ROW Television and Tag Team Champion. Joe Keys, on the other hand, is known for being in the inaugural class of the new Ring of Honor Dojo wherein he is a student of the extraordinary Jonathan Gresham. These men are out to prove something now that they’re on the big stage. Cole goes up against one of the top contenders who recently competed for the AEW World Championship and came so close to winning it in the form of Orange Cassidy Keys and Rusman will have their hands full as well with the unrelenting no-nonsense philosophy of The Factory. These men need to step up. This is their chance to show everyone what they’re truly made of. And what better platform than AEW Dark: Elevation?
