Preview: AEW Dynamite (6/4/21) – Fallout From Double or Nothing

AEW Dynamite 6/4/21

Double or Nothing has come and gone but the action remains rampant. Different night, same excitement as All Elite Wrestling brings fans yet another Friday night edition of AEW Dynamite. Double or Nothing was a night of glitz, glamour, and action. Those who bet on themselves cashed out in spades and others came out the other side empty-handed. For the first time in over a year, due to the pandemic, fans were in full force cheering with excitement as they got a taste of live action once again and they did not take it for granted. Roars left and right were heard as the men and women of AEW reminded them of what they were missing all along. As we deal with the fallout from Double or Nothing, everyone is in tip-top shape to bounce back from crushing defeats while some celebrate crowning achievements and vengeance being served.

On this night, we celebrate the dawning of a new era in the AEW women’s division as a new champion was crowned Sunday night. We will also see the premier wrestling we come to expect from the promotion known as AEW. Aside from all the action, fans will welcome a brand new top-of-the-line signee into AEW’s fold as we hear from the “The World’s Strongest Man” in his AEW Dynamite debut. If the following events aren’t enough to satisfy the unquenchable thirst for wrestling, we don’t know what will. Let’s not keep anyone waiting and longer as we run it down.

Full Match Card:

  • We Hear from AEW’s Newest Broadcaster, “The World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry
  • AEW World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks vs. Pac & Penta El Zero Miedo
  • Christian Cage & Jungle Boy vs. Private Party (w/Matt Hardy)
  • Bullrope Match: Nick Comoroto (w/The Factory) vs. Dustin Rhodes
  • Championship Celebration of the NEW AEW Women’s World Champion, Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D.

Tug of War

Dustin Rhodes was livid after the events of Double or Nothing. Nick Comoroto cost him a shot at possibly challenging for the AEW World Championship. In the Casino Battle Royale, Comoroto stooped to a new low, eliminating “The Natural.” The behemoth hit Rhodes with a cowbell, thus playing a huge part in eliminating him from the contest.

On AEW Dark: Elevation, an interview was conducted by the legendary Tony Schiavone with Rhodes. The latter said that this has been personal for a long time. With this much animosity, it’s only fitting for him and Comoroto to settle the beef in a match type that Rhodes himself made famous. He proposed a Bullrope Match on this week’s show in order for them to both finally settle the score once and for all. Dustin Rhodes is undefeated in this type of match. Thus, Nick Comoroto will be stepping into Dustin’s wheelhouse come Friday night.

Rhodes stated that he does not care if he has to drag Comoroto from post to post just to knock some sense into his thick skull. Rhodes is out for blood and violence. Rest assured, Comoroto will come prepared. With QT Marshall and The Factory by his side, the confidence for the young monster must be sky-high heading into this battle. One shouldn’t underestimate a grizzled veteran like Rhodes as he has been around the wrangler more than a handful of times. Who will come out on top? Will it be “The Natural” in his specialty match of choice or will power play a huge role in securing Nick Comoroto the victory?

The D.M.D. Era Begins on AEW Dynamite

Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. has finally reached the mountain top of the AEW women’s division. She has achieved the accolade she has been dreaming of since day one. Baker is now finally the new AEW Women’s World Champion. After a valiant effort from the now-former year-long AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida, Baker’s tenacity and will to win proved to be too much for Shida.

Double or Nothing was the dawning of a new era for women’s wrestling in AEW. The face of the women’s division is now also its undisputed champion. Britt Baker proved to everyone why she is indeed the very best AEW has to offer. As she ushers in a new period for the division, AEW celebrates her crowning achievement come Friday night. This is only the beginning of what’s sure to be the most exciting time for the AEW women’s division; a new time, a new era – the era of Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D.
