Southwest Wrestling Entertainment SWE Fury

An Introduction to Southwest Wrestling Entertainment (SWE Fury)

Professional wrestling is alive and well in North Texas. Long-time Texas wrestling promoter Tom Lance formed Southwest Wrestling Entertainment in 2016. Lance previously worked with Texas legends “Gentleman” Chris Adams and General Skandor Akbar. SWE is quickly becoming a hotbed for professional wrestling in the Dallas area and looks to fill the void left behind by The Von Erich Family many years ago.

On-screen, WWE Hall of Fame Inductee Theodore R. “Teddy” Long, long-time referee and manager with both WCW and WWE, serves as the General Manager of Southwest Wrestling Entertainment. Assisting Long as a consultant and enforcer is WWE Hall of Fame Inductee, “The World Strongest Man” Mark Henry; he replaces former enforcer, the recently deceased Road Warrior Animal. In addition to these wrestling legends, former World Class Championship Wrestling Senior Referee James Beard is the Head of Talent Relations, and former WCW star Kevin Sullivan provides commentary.

The current SWE Champion is former Team Angle member Charlie Haas. Haas is the second man to hold the belt, winning the title from former NWA World Heavyweight Champion Tim Storm. Former Teddy Long managerial client Rodney Mack is the current SWE Television Champion. Mack currently boasts the longest active reign of any champion in the company. Both he and his wife Jazz occupy spots on the SWE roster.

Christi Jaynes, who in 2020 worked with Hikaru Shida and Big Swole in AEW, as well as Kiera Hogan in IMPACT Wrestling, is the current SWE Women’s Champion. Jaynes won the title from Miranda Gordy, the daughter of the late Freebird, Terry “Bam Bam” Gordy. Miranda defeated the inaugural Women’s Champion, Jazz, to win the title before losing it to Jaynes.

The SWE Tag Team Champions are Jon Omari and Mike Anthony, who form the team of OMG. They are currently fending off a challenge from the duo of Bam Bam Malone and Heartthrob Jaden Roller; the latter is the son-in-law of Road Warrior Animal.

In recent weeks, stars such as Big Cass, Melina, Mil Muertes, The Boogeyman, Davey Boy Smith, Lacey Von Erich, Justin Credible, and Salina de la Renta from MLW have all appeared on Southwest Wrestling Entertainment shows.

SWE Fury airs weekly on their YouTube channel, on FITE TV, and on television stations across Texas, Louisiana, and Kentucky.
