FSW High Octane Tag Title Rematch in the Fight Capital

Tonight in Las Vegas, the fight capital of the world hosts a tag team match able to live up to the hype at Future Stars of Wrestling (FSW) High Octane. The FSW Arena will be packed when the Bag Boyz defend their FSW tag titles against the former champs The One Percent in a best of three falls match. It’s a rematch from October when the Bag Boyz wrestled the FSW gold away from The One Percent in a classic tag match. These two teams fought like hell all summer and it all gets settled tonight at FSW High Octane.

The two teams matchup well. Suede Thompson and Chris Bey formed Bag Boyz last summer and saw immediate success. These two top prospects know each other well in the ring, but not just as partners. A best of three falls match is old hat for the tag team champs. Thompson and Bey met in a heated best of seven series in Championship Wrestling From Hollywood (CWFH) and culminated at Championship Wrestling From Arizona’s AZ100 when Bey won the seventh and deciding match. So these two aren’t going into this blind for what is a traditional/non- traditional match.

The best of three falls match was normal in the first half of the twentieth century. Many big title matches were settled in this format. These types of contests set up great for an athlete or athletes who may not be quick starters, and need time to get going. Wrestlers can always have an excuse in a one fall bout, but they go out the window in these. Tonight there will be no excuses for the losers.

For The One Percent, Royce Isaacs and Jorel Nelson, some questions loom going into this title fight. Were the One Percent looking past the Bag Boyz in October? Were they distracted by business going on outside of FSW? The One Percent are one of the hottest tag teams on the west coast and are getting attention from larger promotions. Did this play a role in their loss in October? The former champs have been at the top of their game, so we’ll find out tonight if they’re ready and bringing the right mindset into the ring for tonight. Isaacs had this to say going into tonight’s battle, “I heard Suede Thompson from The Bag Boyz is dropping a mumble rap album, how cute. Well unfortunately for him this match isn’t mumble rap, its R&B. Boyz to Men. The One Percent are taking home gold and going platinum.”

Certainly appears The One Percent is ready, and they’ll need to be tonight. Bey and Thompson bring quick, high flying offense, so Isaacs and Nelson will have to cut the ring off and take the crowd out of. The Boyz are a popular team in Las Vegas, so the FSW crowd could be the difference. If the One Percent use quick tags, cut the ring off, and wear them down they will get their hands raised. If not the reign of the Bag Boyz could be double platinum.
