WWE SmackDown Spoilers & Results (6/5/26):

Friday Night SmackDown in Italy got off on a chaotic foot as Michael Cole and Wade Barrett were welcoming the WWE Universe, and Gunther would wreak havoc at ringside, tearing up equipment, standing up on the table and saying he wants justice for Clash in Italy.

The “Ring General” said he’s the best professional wrestler in the world, and the only way Cody Rhodes could beat him was to cheat, and he wants vindication, challenging Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes to come out and face him, and the champion obliged.

After an electric reception, Rhodes got on the mic and actually agreed with Gunther, saying his foot was on the ropes. That said, he’s a two-decade pro and a student of the game, and he should know how it goes. But Rhodes said that what’s done is done, and if he wants a rematch, they can do it in Italy right now.

Before anything could be made official, Sami Zayn would enter the fray. Zayn would try to make it about himself once again, saying that he’s getting overlooked, and tried to stay away from the situation. Gunther would shut him down, saying this is the Undisputed WWE Title, and he knows nothing about it.

Sami would rebut that he may not know about it, but he knows a thing or two about beating Gunther for a title. Zayn turned his focus to Rhodes, asking when he intends to teach Zayn a lesson after he claimed he would. Gunther would sucker punch Rhodes and beat down Zayn, leading to Rhodes going after him and inadvertently blasting Zayn instead, as SmackDown started on a tense note.

Queen of the Ring – 1st Round

Four women enter, one comes out victorious as Raquel Rodriguez, Kiana James, Bayley, and Jacy Jayne battle it out for a spot in the Queen of the Ring semis. It was an even match throughout, with all four women having a shot at advancing in the semis. But a big miscue would lead to an unexpected winner of this 1st round Queen of the Ring match-up. One who didn’t win was Kiana James, as she dressed down Giulia and the two brawled.

Backstage:

  • We see Nick Aldis and Sami Zayn having a heated argument before Aldis walks away to speak to a new SmackDown signee.

Talla Tonga vs. Royce Keys

Royce Keys settles a score with Talla Tonga as they go one-on-one. It was never a fair match for Royce Keys as Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga would consistently interfere in the match. After a physical battle that saw Keys gain momentum and quickly lose it because of the numbers game. Talla Tonga would hit the Talla T-Bomb for the win. Post-match, R-Truth would try to save Keys from the assault, only for Damian Priest to stop him before things escalated.

Rhea Ripley Speaks

After defeating Jade Cargill at Clash in Italy, WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley speaks to the WWE Universe in Italy. Ripley stated that she’s done with Jade Cargill and is ready for a new chapter. Rhea wanted to acknowledge that she didn’t do it alone, as someone had her back.

This statement prompted Charlotte Flair to come out and say that she knows Ripley didn’t want the help, but she did what she did because she respected her and actually loved teaming up with her over the past few weeks. Before the love fest can continue, Women’s U.S. Champion Tiffany Stratton would crash the party, putting both women on notice, especially the WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley, saying she wants to be a double champion.

Jade Cargill and her associates would have something to say, wanting everyone in the ring to pipe down, saying she’s not done with Rhea and she’s still gunning for the WWE Women’s Title. Flair, wanting revenge for Alexa Bliss, would cut her off, saying anyone from their group should put their money where their mouth is. Nick Aldis liked the idea of sanctioning a match right there.

Michin & Jade Cargill vs. Charlotte Flair & Tiffany Stratton

The Queen was fired up in Italy, and she now faces the women who took out her “bestie” in the form of Michin and Jade Cargill, as she tags with former arch-rival Tiffany Stratton. A fired-up Flair and Stratton dominated the early part of this match, but Michin, and with occasional tags to Cargill, wrestled control away in a moment, isolating Charlotte.

At one point, Michin almost got the win after hitting Flair with a Styles Clash, but the Queen was resilient and made the tag to Stratton. It was Tiffy Time, and Stratton went on a rampage. The exclamation point of this onslaught came when Stratton hit a Swanton Bomb that almost put Michin away, but Cargill managed to save her teammate.

Flair would even the odds and take out Michin, leaving Cargill and Stratton one-on-one. A Thrust Kick to the head of Stratton would rock the U.S. Champion. Cargill would go for Jaded, but Stratton would counter with a Victory Roll for a near-fall. Tiffany executed the Firewoman’s Carry Senton and went for the Prettiest Moonsault Ever, only for Jade to knock her off the top, lock her arms and lift her to the center of the ring to hit Jaded for the win.

Backstage:

  • An irate Jacy Jayne with Fatal Influence would assault WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Brie Bella and Paige during a photoshoot.

Carmelo Hayes vs. Ricky Saints

After a heated past month, Carmelo Hayes and Ricky Saints can finally settle their differences as they go at it on SmackDown in Italy. It started hot, really hot, with Ricky Saints cheapshotting Melo before the bell even rang. Once the match was official, Hayes would hit a stunning Frog Splash with the ring jacket still on for a near fall.

The match got underway, and it was an absolute chess game. Melo at one point hit the First 48 and would go for Nothing But Net but was thwarted by Saints. The action spilled on the outside, with Saints ramming Melo into the steel steps. Carmelo almost couldn’t answer the call, but at 9, he broke the count.

A melee would ensue, but Saints had it in for Melo tonight. Ricky would roll up Hayes, with a bit of leverage, getting one up on “H1M.”

Lash Legend vs. Chelsea Green

After getting attacked last week on SmackDown, Chelsea Green looks for retribution against Lash Legend. Green put on a heck of an effort, but with Nia Jax’s presence lingering and the power of Legend, Chelsea didn’t stand a chance. For her one last gasp, Chelsea tried to execute the Un-Pretty-Her, only for Lash to counter with the Lash Extension for the win.

King of the Ring – 1st Round

For the main event of these WWE SmackDown spoilers in Italy, we have a Fatal 4-Way Match between Damian Priest, Trick Williams, Dominik Mysterio, and Bron Breakker to see who advances to the semis. There were a lot of interferences in this otherwise intense affair. In the end, albeit in extremely controversial fashion, Dominik Mysterio would walk away, as he advanced to the King of the Ring semifinals.

That’s all for REAL-TIME WWE SmackDown spoilers and results from Bologna, Italy, as they unfolded in the Unipol Arena.
