On the May 22, 2026 edition of WWE Raw, the night after Backlash, WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event got its first official match, as the Intercontinental Champion Penta came out and called out Ethan Page, wanting to settle it then and there. Penta is a fighting champion, and he wants anyone who would like to step up to do it now. Driven by ego, Ethan Page would come and say that he accepts the challenge, but he wants to do it in his own terms, leading to a bout at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event (SNME) on May 23, 2026.
WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event (SNME) Gets Even Bigger
The Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana, will witness the Intercontinental Championship being contested in a classic one-on-one match as the fast-rising star Ethan Page takes on Penta. Unfortunately for the champion, Ethan Page might not be the only competitor he needs to be worried about if he happens to retain at WWE SNME.
The “Bulgarian Brute” Rusev would come out and say that he wants a shot at that Intercontinental Title and doesn’t understand why Ethan Page is getting a shot before him, considering he’s been on the hunt for the better part of three months now.
Page claimed he talked to WWE Monday Night Raw General Manager Adam Pearce about landing Rusev a title shot, since he didn’t want to “cut the line.” But according to Ethan, Je’Von Evans got to Pearce first, saying he didn’t deserve it since he hadn’t beaten Je’Von one-on-one. The “Young OG” would come out and respond to this, saying it’s true, but he did not say that to Adam Pearce.
The two got into it, with a match happening as Je’Von Evans beat Rusev 1,2,3 in the ring. Penta has a lot of targets on his back, but he needs to focus on WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event (SNME) on May 23, 2026, as potentially his toughest test to date is in the form of Ethan Page.
