WWE Backlash 2026 Results (5/9/26):

Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker

What a way to kick off WWE Backlash 2026, as the “Architect” Seth Rollins looks to tear down the very creation he worked hard to build, as he takes on the monster that is Bron Breakker. This match was the perfect way to begin Backlash, as these two went to war.

Breakker would try to go for the kill as soon as the bell rang, bullrushing Rollins for a Spear. Rollins would leap off and dump Bron on the outside, following up with a Suicide Dive. Rollins was in an amazing position, but he should’ve continued the assault because when Bron caught him and pummeled him, the domination began.

Bron Breakker would keep Seth Rollins at bay, hitting him with move after move. German Suplexes left and right, as well as a flattening, momentum-filled Clothesline. Breakker had Rollins for a moment after hitting an impressive Frankensteiner off the top rope. While Seth would kick out and try to mount a comeback, Breakker threw everything but the kitchen sink at him.

The Badass would pull off moves a man of size couldn’t normally do, hitting a Military Press Gutbuster, then decking Rollins with a Lariat that preceded a Standing Moonsault that almost put Rollins away. A tide-turner of the match came when Breakker would scale the ropes and try to hit a move off it. Rollins would walk up the buckles and hit a Superplex, but Bron, upon taking the slam, would counter into a Falcon Arrow.

Rollins would try his best to come back. Even after eating another Frankensteiner, Rollins would catch Bron with a Pedigree. Seth knew that The Vision was lingering, and he immediately armed himself with a chair, warding off Austin Theory and Logan Paul.

Upon entering the ring, he would be met with a Spear, but would kick out. Breakker would once again try to crush Rollins with another Spear, only for Rollins to hit a Pedigree mid-air and then a Stomp. Breakker was seemingly out of it, but he would get his shoulders up after a pin attempt. The “Visionary” would climb the top rope, but Breakker would dash his dreams by hitting a Spear mid-air.

Breakker would end this match with one more violent Spear, as he defeats Seth Rollins in a barn-burning opener.

WWE Backlash 2026 Result: Bron Breakker def. Seth Rollins via pinfall after a Spear.

United States Championship Match

A WrestleMania 42 rematch is up next, as Trick Williams defends the United States Title for the first time against the man he took it from, Sami Zayn. For the first time since coming to SmackDown, we saw Trick Williams struggle, as Sami Zayn made good on his promise to prove to the “Anointed One” that there are levels to this.

Zayn came out of the gate like a man possessed, hitting his best shots with a Sunset Flip Powerbomb early in the match, as well as a Blue Thunder Bomb that should’ve ended Trick. Zayn was like a madman, even taking the same Candy Cane Kendo Stick he got battered with the previous night and using it on Trick behind the referee’s back, as well as Lil Yachty.

However, his insistence on keeping on punishing Yachty would cost him. Zayn had Trick in prime position for the Helluva Kick. Instead, he hit his finisher on Lil Yachty on the outside. Once Zayn was back in the ring, he would wind up for the Helluva Kick, only for Trick to duck the attempt, hit the Trick Shot and retain the United States Championship.

The Trick Yachty Gang would celebrate, with Lil Yachty making it rain in Florida.

WWE Backlash 2026 Result: Trick Williams retains the U.S. Championship via pinfall after a Trick Shot.

Danhausen & “A Mystery Partner” vs. The Miz & Kit Wilson

The Miz and Kit Wilson look to finally solve their Danhausen problem, as the man from Mockingbird Lane battles them with a mystery partner. Out of the “Cloning Machine,” which is literally just a wooden box, a Mini Hausen would come out of it, as Danhausen unleashed him on Miz and Kit.

Despite the apprehension of some people, MiniHausen, or Lucha Hausen as Michael Cole referred to him, would hit a Springboard Shoulder Block on Kit, followed up by Head Scissors Takedown. With the Miz and Wilson on the outside, Danhausen would launch his Mini Mockingbird Lane compatriot.

Unfortunately, Miz and Kit would take Danhausen out of the equation, leaving his Mini Mimic to fend for himself. The Miz was extremely proud of manhandling MiniHausen, even hitting a Military Press Powerslam, ala Goldberg, on Danhausen’s mystery partner.

MiniHausen would find an opening, after all that abuse, tagging in Danhausen. Even when Danhausen got the upper hand, Miz and Kit would thwart a comeback attempt. All manner of chaos ensued as Kit Wilson would chase MiniHausen back into the Cloning Machine, producing other MiniHausens that pummeled Kit.

Once back in the ring, MiniHausen would try to curse Kit Wilson, but Kit would reflect it with a mirror, allowing The Miz to hit the Skull-Crushing Finale. Miz would pin him, but Danhausen would break up the pin just in the nick of time.

On the outside, The Miz would try to douse Danhausen with a Fire Extinguisher, but it malfunctioned, hitting him and Kit. Danhausen would capitalize on this, bring Miz back into the ring, and MiniHausen would dive onto Kit, allowing Danhausen to hit the pump kick on The Miz for the win.

WWE Backlash 2026 Result: Danhausen and MiniHausen defeat The Miz and Kit Wilson via pinfall.

IYO SKY vs. Asuka

The dream match we’ve all been waiting for is finally upon us, as Asuka takes on IYO SKY to finally settle their bad blood. Both women were just in a different universe tonight, as Asuka and IYO SKY left it all on the mat tonight. Asuka was like a predator stalking her prey for the early stages of the match, targeting SKY’s right arm.

However, IYO just wouldn’t let up, as the two had the most physical match-up, thus far, of the night. It escalated to a point where they saw each other fighting one another on top of the announce table, and this is where the student became the teacher, as Asuka would spray the mist, only for SKY to block it with a noteholder from the WWE commentators.

SKY would sweep the leg, leading to Asuka falling on her face. SKY would then execute an Asai Moonsault to take out Asuka on the outside. Back in the ring, the two would not let up. SKY would go for the Over the Moonsault, only for Asuka to get out of the way and lock in an Armbar and reposition into the Asuka lock. SKY was on the verge of passing out, but managed to roll through and pin her while still in the submission.

Asuka would release the hold and break up the pin, as the two exchanged neck-breaking German Suplexes. SKY would best Asuka in this duel by hitting the Bullet Train Meteora on the corner, and finally end this “Match of the Night” candidate with an Over the Moonsault. The two would exchange hugs, showcasing the respect they have for each other after the war they just waged.

WWE Backlash 2026 Result: IYO SKY def Asuka via pinfall after an Over the Moonsault.

The Champ Is Here

With a thunderous reception, the “Greatest of All-Time” John Cena walks into Backlash 2026 with a huge announcement of a new tournament and championship that’s unlike any other.

World Heavyweight Championship Match

For the main event of the evening, it’s blood vs. blood, as Jacob Fatu looks to be the new “Head of the Table” as he challenges the “OTC” and World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns. This was a massive war that broke out between the two cousins, with Jacob Fatu trying to end things immediately with a Tongan Death Grip in the opening moments of the match.

Reigns was already on the back foot, and that would continue as Fatu would unleash. He put Reigns through the announcer’s table, and even hit a Pop-Up Samoan Drop, followed by a Mighty Moonsault that almost got Reigns to lose the title.

Roman would go “God Mode.” Even when he found himself in the Tongan Death Grip in the middle of the ring on the verge of passing out, he would come back. Fatu would try to ward off the attempt by going for another Pop-Up Samoan Drop, but in mid-air, Reigns would hit a Superman Punch, the third one during the contest, followed by a Spear, but Fatu would not die that easily.

The “Tribal Chief” found himself in the Tongan Death Grip once again, and with much desperation, Reigns would pull off the turnbuckle padding and slam Fatu’s head into it, chalking it up as an accident. Reigns would end this amazing battle with one final Spear to retain the World Heavyweight Title.

He couldn’t celebrate for long as Fatu went haywire, locking him in the Tongan Death Grip once again, and making him pass out. During this process, Fatu even delivered a Pop-Up Samoan Drop to the WWE official. A sea of people would pull off Fatu, but not before he hoisted the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, making a statement that his quest for the gold is far from over, as he stood above the champion’s lifeless body.

WWE Backlash 2026 Result: Roman Reigns def. Jacob Fatu via pinfall after a Spear.

That’s all for REAL-TIME Backlash 2026 results as they happened in the Benchmark International Arena all the way from Tampa, Florida.
