We make our WWE Backlash 2026 predictions as the event takes place soon on May 9, 2026. This will be WWE’s first PLE to kick off their road to SummerSlam in August after a historic WrestleMania 42, where WWE crowned three new world champions in Roman Reigns, Liv Morgan, and Rhea Ripley and two new mid-card champions in Becky Lynch and Trick Williams.
WWE usually schedules four matches for these B-level PLEs. Still, the company actually booked five matches this time around: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Jacob Fatu for the World Title, IYO SKY vs. Asuka, Danhausen & Mystery Tag Partner vs. The Miz & Kit Wilson, Trick Williams (c) vs. Sami Zayn for the U.S. Title, and Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker. Without further ado, it is now time to pontificate about this year’s official Backlash Predictions.
WWE Backlash 2026 Predictions:
Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker
The plethora of injuries in the Vision this past year has foreshadowed a pernicious future for the storyline between Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker. Most fans should have the clairvoyance to realize that this is an inevitable trilogy that will conclude at SummerSlam. This is only the first chapter, as Rollins and Breakker should trade wins before their final battle.
Rollins took Breakker under his wing to mold him into his star pupil and the next big megastar. Meanwhile, Breakker betrayed Rollins and ran the Vision on his own, as he felt that Rollins held him back as merely a bodyguard who did his dirty work. Rollins will have to get his revenge, especially after Breakker screwed him in his ‘Mania match against Gunther, but Breakker should nefariously win here with help from The Vision.
A nefarious victory by Breakker would not only give him the big victory he needs over Seth Rollins to prove himself as the next rising star and future world champion, but also warrant a rematch at the next PLE with a stipulation that bans The Vision from ringside. A steel cage match, for example, would give Rollins the opening to assure a clean victory over Breakker as the babyface in this story.
That victory would give Rollins the leverage he needs to challenge for the World Title he never lost after relinquishing the title due to injury. Whenever Rollins reignites his Shield rivalry with Roman Reigns, all Breakker has to do is screw Rollins in that title match to set up a final match with Rollins at SummerSlam, where he can get that clean victory over Rollins and solidify his road to the top.
Prediction: Bron Breakker
