An unexpected return happened on the March 13, 2026, episode of Friday Night SmackDown. After not appearing since SummerSlam last year, Jelly Roll made his presence known in a big way. He got in the face of both Kit Wilson and The Miz after he got invited to be the special guest on Miz TV. The next week, he and Wilson had another back-and-forth confrontation involving slam poetry.
After that, Wilson wasn’t too happy, as a match would be scheduled for the March 27 SmackDown. It would be Jelly Roll’s first match since SummerSlam, where he and Randy Orton lost to Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul. The match would also be his first singles match in WWE. Would he be able to get the victory, or would Wilson steal the win for himself?
Jelly Roll Picks Up Victory in Impressive Fashion
This ongoing storyline hasn’t just involved those three men. Danhausen has been putting curses on everyone, causing them to lose their matches, lose their titles, and have a bad week. After talking to The Miz, Wilson turned around to see Danhausen, who immediately cursed him. He came out, recited more poetry, then smashed the poetry book across Jelly Roll’s face after being pushed.
The match started, and he smashed him into the turnbuckle with a shoulder uppercut before punching him and pushing him against the ropes. He hung on, flopping to the ground after Wilson attempted a kick. He then sat on his groin area and then dropped it on his knee, causing him much discomfort and pain.
After a stop to the Bionic Elbow, he clotheslined Wilson to the floor. Joe Tessitore gave Wilson back his poetry book, but Jelly Roll took it from him. He then ambushed him when the ref saw it, then gave him offense in the corner. Afterwards, he punched him in the center of the ring and bashed his head against the turnbuckle. Jelly Roll moved away when another shoulder uppercut was attempted, then hit Wilson with a belly-to-belly suplex.

They traded punches before Jelly Roll finally hit the Bionic Elbow. Wilson got up, then kicked out of a powerslam to continue the match. After Jelly Roll picked up the poetry book, Wilson gave him the Tourni-Kit but kicked him out. He responded with the chokeslam, which gave him the pinfall victory.
Wilson has now been disrespected by Oba Femi, Danhausen, and Jelly Roll, who now have his first singles victory. With that first win under his belt, what will be next for Jelly Roll in WWE?
