TNA Knockouts Champion Back to WWE NXT, and More Surprises at TNA Victory Road 2025

The WWE NXT invasion of TNA began last night at TNA Victory Road 2025. It wasn’t as rowdy as on Tuesday night, as NXT and AAA talents insinuated themselves into the show, with a clear idea in mind. NXT is definitely taking an option on all the TNA titles on the Road to Bound for Glory.

NXT’s Kelani Jordan Captures TNA Knockouts World Champion in a Shocking Twist of Events

Just before TNA Victory Road airs, we learnt that TNA Knockouts Champion Ash by Elegance would make an announcement. As her title defense that night was canceled, the expectation was to make official Indi Hartwell as her TNA Bound for Glory opponent. That was not the case.

TNA President Carlos Silva and Director of Authority Santino Marella were in the ring as an emotional  Ash by Elegance revealed that she is no longer able to compete. Ash announced that she is stepping away from in-ring competition and reluctantly forfeited the Knockouts World Title.

The TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Title match between The IInspiration and The Elegance Brand will now take place this Thursday on iMPACT. There will instead be a Battle Royal where the final two Knockouts will compete in a match later tonight to crown the new Knockouts World Champion.

The field included NXT’s Kelani Jordan, Léi Ying Lee, Xia Brookside, Dani Luna, Cassie Lee, Jessie McKay, Jody Threat, Maggie Lee, and Heather By Elegance. It came down to NXT’s Kelani Jordan and Léi Ying Lee, who would face each other later for the vacant Knockouts World Title, with Indi Hartwell as Special Guest Referee.

The match was really excellent, with Lee controlling Jordan. When Jordan inadvertently took out Hartwell, and Lee had Jordan beat after a spin kick, Hartwell was late to make the count. Jordan recovered and connected with One of a King to become the new Knockouts World Champion. A second TNA World title is now in NXT’s hands.

Mike Santana Reveals TNA Bound For Glory Opponent

Mike Santana faced and defeated NXT’s Ridge Holland. The #1 contender for the TNA World Championship at TNA Bound for Glory was celebrating when NXT’s Trick Williams’ music hit. Williams attacked Santana from behind and took him out with the belt. Williams stood over a fallen Santana.

Unless a last-minute surprise happens tonight at WWE NXT No Mercy, it seems now 99% sure that Trick Williams will be Mike Santana’s opponent at TNA Bound for Glory for the TNA World Title.

New TNA International Champion, and Possible New #1 contender from AAA

During the Countdown to Victory Road, as Gia Miller was interviewing TNA International Champion Steve Maclin, AAA’s El Mesias appeared and stared at Maclin with the eyes of an interested man. At that moment of the show, the segment seemed inconsequential. After all the previous announcements and appearances, it took on a different sense.

Frankie Kazarian challenged Steve Maclin for the TNA International Championship in a very good match. AAA’s El Mesias confronted Maclin again at ringside. Kazarian capitalized and Nutcracked (went low) Maclin. Kazarian hit the Slingshot Cutter to become the new TNA International Champion.

It seems evident that Maclin and El Mesias have a problem that will end up in a match. Then, if El Mesias was targeting Maclin because of the International title, Frankie Kazarian may have found an opponent at Bound For Glory. We’ll see what happens in the next two iMPACT episodes leading to the PLE.

NXT wants the X-Division Championship, too

Leon Slater retained the X-Division title in a mind-blowing match against Myron Reed in the main event of Victory Road. As the show was going off air, TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella announced who Slater will face off for the X-Division Title at Bound For Glory.

Slater received a message from NXT’s Je’Von Evans. Evans explained that he has always wanted a match in a TNA ring, and it hasn’t happened yet. So, TNA Bound For Glory will be really bouncing. Matthew Rehwoldt, from the announce table, said, “Yes, please, I can’t wait to see that matchup!” We can agree with Rehwoldt and Marella that it is a dream match.
