The Nygma’s View
Insane X-Division Matches
X-Division matches are usually the best matches. Once again, it was true. In the Countdown, Cedric Alexander faced Zachary Wentz and Trey Miguel. The match deserved more time than eight minutes because, as always, it was excellent. Wentz won, Miguel was so close, but Alexander couldn’t do more against The Rascalz.
Once again, Leon Slater made history as he became yesterday the youngest main-eventer in TNA history, in a singles match. He defeated Myron Reed in a monumental bout. No acrimony between the two men, like for Alexander, Wentz, and Miguel. Nygma says: You can’t be disappointed with wrestlers as talented as they are, and matches that defy the laws of gravity.
That was INSANE! @LEONSLATER_ @TheBadReed

Order 4 vs The System – The next episode
As a preview of Hardcore War, Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers, and JDC battled The Great Hands and Special Agent 0. This marked the TNA in-ring debut of Special Agent 0. The System banded together to neutralize Special Agent 0, sending him over the top rope to the floor. JDC hit Hotch with the Falcon Arrow, but Skyler broke the pin. Moments later, JDC soared with Down & Dirty to pin Hotch for the win.
Moose battled Mustafa Ali with the Hardcore War numbers advantage at Bound For Glory up for grabs. The System and Order 4 were banned from ringside, but I was suspecting Ali had a Plan B. The match was great until some belly dancers got on the apron to distract the referee. Tasha Steelz was one of the dancers; she Nutcracked Moose, and Ali capitalized with a 450 to win. Nygma says: May the Hardcore War put an end to this feud, as it’s becoming ridiculous.

New Champions
As I tell you here, NXT’s Kelani Jordan and Frankie Kazarian, respectively, became the new TNA Knockouts and International Champions. Nygma says: When the first was a huge surprise, the second was not a real one. The good thing is they came from good matches.
Despite all I’ve said on the Elegance Brand, Ash’s retirement from in-ring competition was a shock. Life throws curveballs at each one of us. The way the Battle Royal was set and how NXT’s Kelani Jordan strangely happened to be there was saying everything. The TNA Knockouts Championship was set to come back to NXT.

Frankie Kazarian owed his win to AAA’s El Mesias’s interference. The King of TNA has been targeting the TNA World title for so long, I don’t clearly understand this title win. The X-Division Champion can use Option C to have a World title match, but does the TNA International Championship have a special option to jump from one title to another? An Option I?
.@TheLeiYingLee just hit @kelani_wwe with a top rope Hurricanrana!

Bound For Glory things
In the Countdown, Matt Hardy was AJ Francis’s guest in the First Class Penthouse (remember Jeff Hardy can’t come to Canada). Francis thinks that First Class should be in the Tables match between TNA World Tag Team Champions The Hardys and Team 3D at Bound For Glory, but Matt disagreed. Tensions exploded as Francis put Matt through a table.
Later, a Tables match was set between the two. The advantage of a stipulation match is that using the title belt as a weapon is not prohibited. That’s not what Francis did, but Matt Hardy, before putting Francis through a table with a top rope leg drop. Nygma says: That’s not a usual Hardy move, but let’s put that under the anger umbrella.
Mike Santana defeated Ridge Holland, no surprise here. As Holland was supposed to weaken Santana before their match at Bound for Glory, TNA World Champion NXT’s Trick Williams did the job himself. Nygma says: Is Williams that afraid of Santana that he’s unable to play a fair game? In fact, that’s not a question, that’s a statement.
.@MATTHARDYBRAND proves he’s still EXTREME!

The Best of The Rest
Joe Hendry defeated Eric Young, thanks to The Northern Armory. Young blocked the referee’s vision and Nutcracked Hendry. Travis Williams and Judas Icarus stopped Young from using a steel chair. Hendry hit the Standing Ovation into the chair for the win. Nygma says: If he starts to cheat, I am definitely not going to believe in Joe Hendry.
Matt Cardona and The Home Town Man defeated The Nemeth’s brothers. After the match, the Nemeths retaliated with a blindside attack on Cardona and Home Town Man. Nic unmasked the Home Town Man. Nygma says: Quite strangely, TNA has posted nothing about this match (after all, we now know who HTM is…). Thumbs down to the Nemeths for playing the dirty game.

The Nygma’s Last Word(s)
Victory Road was a wild event because if some things were crystal clear, others were definitely unpredictable. That’s probably the reason why I liked it. I love to be caught by surprise when it comes to wrestling, but not in real life. Bound For Glory may be 15 days away, but TNA Wrestling and NXT are still changing the game.
We can say Victory Road was Act One of a slow and prepared NXT invasion. I tend to think NXT will try to grab every possible TNA title at Bound For Glory. That’s why the next two NXT and iMPACT episodes will be important to watch. Something is brewing, and I can’t wait to know what (Nygma is absolutely not patient).
I’ll come back to you tomorrow with the taping spoilers. Till then, may the Nygma be with you
