Undertaker as American Bad Ass and Rhea Ripley celebrate on Raw on Netflix

Rhea Ripley Needs A Break From WWE World Title Contention (Here’s Why)

Rhea Ripley has been running the Women’s Division on Monday Night RAW for several years. Most of the time, Ripley was the champion. The longer Ripley was in title contention, her stories started to get a bit stale. The outcome was always the same, as she would win the majority of her matches.

What WWE needs to avoid doing is having Ripley constantly chase the Women’s World Title. Doing so would indicate to the fans that her persona stays the same, to the point where it starts to become dull.

If there’s a storyline WWE should go with at the moment, it involves Ripley’s ally, Iyo Sky, who is in a program with her team of Asuka and Kairi Sane. That said, direction is likely where Ripley is heading as she came to Sky’s aid last night on RAW.

1st Storyline: Rhea Ripley & IYO SKY vs. Asuka and Kairi Sane

WWE should involve Ripley with SKY for the next couple of PLEs. One way for that to start is for Asuka and Kairi Sane to betray Sky. For that to occur, WWE can have SKY and Stephanie Vaquer compete for the vacant Women’s World Championship, as they are the top two contenders.

Asuka and Sane could cost SKY the match, inadvertently leading to their heel turns. The two-on-one disadvantage would bring out Ripley saving the day. This possible program would end either at an to-be-announced PLE in September or on an episode of RAW. With this unlikely team, it will usher in something greater for Ripley.

2nd Storyline: Rhea Ripley vs. Iyo Sky at Crown Jewel

Coming in October, WWE will be hosting its PLE, Crown Jewel, in Perth, Australia. With that being Ripley’s native country, she should have a big match at the event. One big match that heavily suits her is against IYO SKY. Not only did their story revolve around the title, but also the fact that Ripley had never beaten SKY before.

There is no better way for Ripley to finally defeat SKY than in her home country in front of her friends and family. A possible win would also put her back in the title hunt. Hopefully, with her break from pursuing gold, she is in compelling storylines while also trying to build her way back up in the main picture.

What else can WWE do for Rhea Ripley for the time being?

There are plenty of women on the RAW roster with whom Ripley can work a program. She can even work with Becky Lynch, who is the current Women’s Intercontinental Champion. Easily, they can revisit their match dated back to WrestleMania 40. Maybe even work with other talent she never competed against, such as Stephanie Vaquer.

With these proposed storylines, it would book Rhea Ripley away from the Women’s World Title for the next few months. How would you book Ripley with putting her in the main title hunt? Leave your comments below.
